Based in Seoul, the Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is an intergovernmental organization founded to support and promote a model of economic growth, which targets key aspects of economic performance such a poverty reduction, job creation, social inclusion, and environmental sustainability. GGGI works with countries around the world, building their capacity and working collaboratively on green growth policies that can impact the lives of millions. The organization partners with countries, multilateral institutions, government bodies, and private sector to help build economies that grow strongly and are more efficient and sustainable in the use of natural resources, less carbon intensive, and more resilient to climate change. The Office of the Director General (ODG) supports the Director General with strategy, partnership, corporate results, change management, and communications services.  The Strategy and Results Unit, within the ODG, leads the development of the strategic direction of the organization and the biennium work program budget and manages the annual corporate results reporting on the delivery of the Strategy 2030 against the Corporate Results Framework (CRF). 

We are looking for a talented individual to work with us in the Office of the Director-General to support the task of the in the Strategy Team.

If you are thinking of entering the world of international organizations and green growth, an internship at the GGGI could be the ideal start for you. The objective of the internship is to give you a first-hand experience of the day-to-day working at GGGI. The Internship Program is a project-oriented learning opportunity for graduate students to gain experience through research assignments based on GGGI’s current operational needs. GGGI welcomes motivated, open-minded, and self-directed individuals to apply. You will be given an opportunity to work directly with outstanding and inspiring Green Growth professionals, participate in workshops and meetings, and contribute to analytical work as well as innovative rethinking on sustainable green growth. Interns will be selected based on merit and cannot be children or siblings of current GGGI staff members. 

 

CURRENT OPPORTUNITY

(One Candidate for Strategy)

  • Provide support on coordinating, designing, and preparing sessions for the 2025 All Staff Meeting (March 2025) as well as provide logistical support
  • Provide any support with regard to the onboarding of the new Director-General.
  • Support the development of GGGI’s Updated Strategy 2030, Roadmap 2025-2030 and CRF 2025-2030.
  • Provide support in drafting communication messages, PowerPoint slides, and Word documents
  • Provide support on coordination tasks where required, such as organizing meetings and providing summary after meetings
  • Perform other tasks assigned from time to time by Strategy Unit

 

(One Candidate for Results)

  • Provide support on tasks related to the production of the 2024 End of Year Results Report.
  • Provide support on drafting communication messages, powerpoint slides, word and excel documents
  • Provide support on coordination tasks where required, such as organizing meetings and providing summary after meetings
  • Support GGGI’s IATI Working Group as its Secretariat organizing its meetings, booking venues, setting the agenda, producing minutes of meetings and coordinating follow up actions.
  • Develop a single data base of historic projects for easy retrieval and compliance with IATI under the guidance of the Senior Results Reporting Officer.
  • Develop/update data base required for OECD DAC Reporting.
  • Support data compilation and update for GGGI's Results Dashboard
  • Provide support on updating the Results Dashboard on GGGI Website.
  • Perform other tasks assigned from time to time by GGGI.

 

ELIGIBILITY
  • Are you enrolled in a Masters or in a Ph.D. program, or in the final year of a Bachelors program?
  • Have you completed Bachelor’s, Masters or PHD Degree in last 12 months?
  • Do you have excellent command of English

 

QUALIFICATIONS
  • Recent graduate in a Bachelor’s or Master’s- or enrolled in a PhD-level program in  economics, development economics, Information Technology or related field preferred.
  • Proven computer literate in standard office software applications skills, ability to quickly master other software
  • Strong analytical skills, with a drive for data analysis, modelling and interpretation
  • Excellent English communication skills, particularly writing and/or editing experience in the field of financial modeling or economic statistics 
  • Ability to work/deliver under time pressure.
  • Good interpersonal skills, ability to work collaboratively with colleagues from diverse cultural backgrounds.

 

SELECTION PROCESS

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
  • Duration: The internship program lasts for six months.
  • Reporting: Position reporting to GGGI’s Senior Results Reporting Officer.
  • Cost: GGGI interns are paid USD$500 per month. All costs related to travel, insurance, accommodation, and living expenses must be borne by either the interns or their sponsoring institutions.
  • Visa: GGGI will provide a supporting letter for visa. Interns will be responsible for obtaining and financing the necessary visas.
  • Travel: Intern will arrange and finance their travel to the internship location.
  • Medical insurance: Interns must present proof of valid medical insurance to GGGI.
  • Confidentiality: Interns must be discreet and keep confidential any and all unpublished information obtained during the course of the internship and may not publish any documents based on such information.
  • Academic Credit: Interns may get academic credit from their institution of higher education for the internship. Interns need to check with their university to confirm their academic credit policy for internships.
