The Scope
We are looking for an engaged Technical Coordinator who brings solid expertise and a passion for FSC’s mission, to work with us in a multinational environment.
We are seeking a dynamic, motivated individual to join our small but passionate team. This role requires someone with strong project management abilities, a passion for sustainable forestry, and the capability to manage stakeholder relationships across various cultures. As a technical coordinator, the successful candidate will support the growth of Forest Management Certification and Ecosystem Certification in Korea.

Main Roles & Responsibilities
Strategy and Work plan development
Project management and implementation
Supervise, leads or supports implementation of projects related to sustainable forest management, conservation and restoration, and related fields in Korea, including:
Sustainable Forestry and Certification Growth
Other Responsibilities
- Develop and implements FSC regional and national strategic plan related to sustainable forest management.
- Act as the primary point of contact for EUDR-related technical inquiries, ensuring clear communication of FSC standards and EUDR alignment.
- Identify companies affected by EUDR and Collaborate with FSC stakeholders to promote FSC certification as a solution for EUDR, driving certification adoption.
- Develop and deliver workshops, training sessions, and informational materials to increase awareness of EUDR FSC's EUDR aligned certification processes.
Project management and implementation
Supervise, leads or supports implementation of projects related to sustainable forest management, conservation and restoration, and related fields in Korea, including:
- Review and provide feedback on reports submitted by relevant consultant(s).
- Engage with relevant stakeholders including forest managers, government bodies, government agencies, NGOs, companies to foster collaboration.
- Manage project budgets, work plans, and timelines, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Proactively identify potential challenges and propose innovative, practical solutions.
- Ensure the successful delivery of the project according to FSC standards and objectives.
Sustainable Forestry and Certification Growth
- Take a lead to expand the area of FSC-certified forests in Korea.
- Stay updated on key developments in sustainable forestry and the FSC normative frameworks.
- Monitor progress toward FSC certification goals and ecosystem services verifications, supporting the review and revision of FSC Forest Stewardship Standards
- Coordinate the development of knowledge products showcasing results of FSC forest-related and ecosystem services activities.
- Represent the organization at meetings, events, and public forums.
Other Responsibilities
- Take on administrative tasks as needed to ensure smooth operations, given the small size of the team.
- Contribute to strategic planning, including a supporting role to the Country Director.

- Master’s degree (or higher) in Forestry, Environmental Science, Natural Resource Management, Ecology, Conservation/ Restoration or a related field.
- Qualification relating to FSC forest management certification/audit preferred.
- Project management (is a plus).
Working Experience, Style and Skills
- At least 5 years of professional experience in relevant fields.
- Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of sustainable forest management, conservation and restoration as well as landscape level management.
- Understanding of related subjects is an asset such as climate & biodiversity policies and framework, high conservation values, environmental finance, agro-forestry, etc.
- Proven ability to manage budgets, timelines, and stakeholder relations effectively.
- Familiarity with FSC certification processes.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and project management skills.
- Ability to work independently, take initiative, and perform across multiple roles, including administrative tasks.
- Innovative, enthusiastic, and willing to go the extra mile.
- Adaptable to working outside of comfort zones with minimal supervision.
- Culturally aware and comfortable working with diverse stakeholders across the APAC region.
Language & Communication Skills
- Exemplary verbal and written communication skills that contribute to cohesive team efforts and decision making.
- Native in Korean is required.
- Fluent in English (spoken and written)
Digital Skills – good skills in the use of/experience with
- Standard software packages (MS Office).
- Database management platforms.
- CRM (Customer Relations Management system) for example salesforce.
- Content Management System (is a plus).

- Experience in working in a multi-cultural, multi-lingual, global team (is a plus).
- Experience in working in / with an NGO or Non-Profit Organization (is a plus).

The Fine Print
- Location: Jamsil, Seoul, Korea & Work from Home.
- Employment: Service and License Agreement.
- Duration of Employment: 1 year (extension possible, subject to satisfactory performance).
- Starting Date: As soon as possible.
- Travel: Regular travel within Korea and occasionally to countries in Asia Pacific and Germany.
