Volunteering Resilience Lead
Location: UK-Flexible (Hybrid)
Salary: £35,921 to £37,050 per annum (plus ILW, if residing & working in London) (DOE)
Hours: 35 per week
Contract: Permanent

This role is all about foresight, strategy, and care - helping us prepare for the unexpected while ensuring volunteers are supported every step of the way. You’ll lead on risk identification, shape continuity plans, and design ethical, inclusive models for surge and redeployment. Working closely with colleagues across a range of specialisms you’ll be a key voice in shaping how we respond with confidence and compassion. What will a day in the life of a Volunteering Resilience Lead involve?
  • Spotting risks and creating plans to keep volunteers safe and supported.
  • Designing systems that help services stay strong during disruption.
  • Working with teams to test readiness and improve continuity plans.
  • Advising colleagues on risk and resilience across volunteer programmes.
  • Making sure surge models meet ethical and legal standards.
  • Using learning from past events to shape future improvements.
To be a successful Volunteering Resilience Lead, what will you need?
  • Strong understanding of risk management and business continuity in volunteer settings.
  • Experience identifying and mitigating risks across the volunteer journey.
  • Ability to design and test resilience strategies, including continuity plans.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and compliance in surge and redeployment contexts.
  • Experience supporting surge or rapid deployment models.
  • Confident communicator and collaborator, able to influence and engage stakeholders.
