UK-Flexible (Hybrid)
Salary: £36,236 to £38,118 per annum (plus ILW, if residing & working in London) (DOE)
Hours: 35 per week

This role is at the heart of our emergency volunteer mobilisation - designing and delivering safe, scalable recruitment models that meet the moment. You’ll work across teams to ensure readiness, uphold compliance, and support rapid deployment with clarity and care. Whether it’s a crisis or a surge in demand, you’ll help us respond with agility and integrity. What will a day in the life of a Volunteering Surge Recruitment Lead involve?
- Designing recruitment models that work under pressure and meet legal standards.
- Testing systems to make sure volunteers can be mobilised quickly.
- Working with teams to align surge plans with wider organisational goals.
- Supporting emergency response groups with updates and insights.
- Using feedback to improve recruitment processes and readiness.
- Sharing knowledge and building confidence across the organisation.
To be a successful Volunteering Surge Recruitment Lead, what will you need?
- Expertise in volunteer recruitment with strong safeguarding and legal compliance knowledge.
- Ability to design scalable recruitment models for emergency and surge contexts.
- Experience delivering recruitment under pressure, including during crises.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and planning skills, including briefing senior leaders.
- Confidence using digital tools to support recruitment delivery.
- Familiarity with emergency planning and incident response structures.
