The assignment aims to increase the engagement of young people in Egypt with GenU through active engagement and participation plan for Shabab Balad Ambassadors & Champions in universities, schools, clubs, social media, forums and conferences in coordination with Advocacy and Communicaitons section to build a robust pool of credible advocates for Shabab Balad and increase youth participation in its flagship program. Also, the assignment draft content for Ambassadors participation, speeches, talking points, social media content creation, liaise with all youth to post in collaboration with Shabab Balad social media platform and the Youth Task Force UN agencies platforms as well to strengthen collaboration with YTF and increase youth engagement. In addition, the assignment aims to coordinate the launch of GenU Academy and ensure youth participation with clear roles and responsibility for the appointed youth and develop a plan for the selected youth from SB ambassadors to participate in GenU Academy operation.

How can you make a difference? 

Objective:

Key Activities:
Under the direction of Generation Unlimited Egypt Manager, the incumbent will perform the following Key activities:
 
Enhanced Engagement of Shabab Balad Youth YPAT, Ambassadors, and Champions:
-Establish a structured pipeline engagement and advocacy initiatives to support Shabab Balad YPAT, Ambassadors, and Champions youth engagement in Shabab Balad’s advocacy efforts.
Revised 30 April 2018
-Identify and secure engagement/participation/speaking opportunities for all GenU Egypt Ambassadors/Champions, at least once a month for each of the 50+ SB ambassadors and champions.
-Generate and document content from engagement activities, liaise with all SB youth and coordinate content placement on social media and work on amplifying the messaging across the different YTF communication channels and platforms.
-Liaise with YTF UN agencies for a wider SB youth engagement opportunities and identify suitable forums for youth participation in the YTF UN agencies forums/events, coordinate youth participation and ensure their participation, develop content for youth participation in forums, develop write up summary and content for youth placement on their social media platforms, follow up on posts placement and leverage collaboration of posts with other YTF UN agencies to maximize reach among youth using other UN platforms.
 
GenU Academy youth engagement in operation coordination:
 
-Develop an engagement plan for SB youth participation in GenU Academy during the soft opening and monitor efficiency and adjust as needed in consultation with the GenU Manager to have a clear youth engagement plan in the operation of GenU Academy once official opening takes place in quarter 4, 2025.
-Set assigned roles and responsibility for SB youth according to youth schedule and need and distribute assignments of managing site and its operation, ensuring participation of youth across all learning hubs in the academy.
-Develop monthly report on SB youth engagement and participation in GenU Academy with recommended assessment and change of roles if needed.
-Develop content as needed from the documented content and generate caption, liaise with SB Youth to post on their social media platform, follow up on placement of posts and identify opportunities to maximize message reach through other platforms from the partners in GenU Academy operation
-Provide a monthly, quarterly, semiannual, end of year report on posts done on activities on GenU Academy.
 
Optimized Shabab Balad Champions & Ambassadors Management:
-Maintain effective communication with Champions/Ambassadors regarding engagement opportunities.
-Secure participation of Champions/Ambassadors in relevant GenU events and meetings.
-Full management of 50 Shabab Balad Ambassadors and Champions, Shabab Balad Youth Network, and Shabab Balad YPATs maintain ongoing communication, responding to all their inquiries and shared ideas or participation in forums and drafting relevant briefing to their identified interventions/events/forums they are participating in.
-Develop calendar of engagement for all Shabab Balad champions and Ambassadors
-Identify suitable engagement/participation opportunities for the champions and Ambassadors, and ensure their registration, participation and engagement
 
Successful GenU Academy Launch & Coordination:
-Organize all logistical aspects for events potentially including the coalition launch, the GenU Academy launch, venue setup and invite management.
-Lead the organization of Shabab Balad coalition launch and meetings
-Develop and implement social media campaigns to promote GenU Academy and Shabab Balad.
-Ensure smooth on-site administration and registration of youth participants.
-Prepare and distribute background materials and content for GenU Egypt and global platforms for amplification

Methodology:

-The incumbent will report to the GenU Egypt Manager. The assignment will require great level of coordination through various stakeholders; youth, youth center personals, GenU team, partners operating on ground in GenU Academy, YTF UN agencies. There is also a need to develop youth engagement metrics and plan for participation according to the fit for each youth and availability.
 
-The methodology also includes close coordination with GenU Academy stakeholder onground, youth and GenU team and requires frequent visits to the GenU Academy, accompanying youth in their engagement forums to ensure proper content briefing and documentation and amplification of documentation. All public advocacy and Communication content to be cleared by ECO Advocacy and Communications

 To qualify as an advocate for every child you will have… 

-Bachelor degree in Marketing, Communication, economics or relevant field, advanced university degree is an asset.

 -At least 6 years of professional experience and knowledge of events management, grassroot activation, PR or media functions.

-Experience in data management

-Experience working on developing innovative solutions

-Previous working experience in a PR or media agency is preferred.

-Demonstrated communication, events management and celebrity engagement

-Fluency in English and Arabic are required.
