Background

Neo-Eco Ukraine LLC, established in May 2022, is a circular consultancy firm affiliated with Neo-Eco France. With offices in Kyiv, Mykolaiv, Madrid, and Lille (France), our team of ten experts specializes in industrial engineering solutions for waste recycling. We advise on circular economy strategies, eco-design, and waste recovery channels, aiming to give used materials new life and contribute to a world without waste.

Our services include corporate social responsibility (CSR) consulting, territorial and industrial engineering, and the development of eco-products from recycled waste. We also have extensive experience in infrastructure projects, urban renewal plans, and the recovery of dredged sediments from port environments, offering solutions to effectively manage construction waste across a multitude of environments.

Amidst Ukraine’s ongoing challenges, we’re dedicated to sharing circular economy practices to recycle war rubble and construction waste, mitigating environmental impacts, and fostering community development. Through holistic approaches, including civic engagement and capacity building, we strive to create a greener, more inclusive, and more sustainable future for Ukraine.

Role Purpose:

Working collaboratively with Neo-Eco Ukraine’s teams in Mykolaiv, Kyiv, and France, you’ll provide essential project management support for rebuilding communities in the Mykolaiv region.

As a Project Management Assistant for Neo-Eco Ukraine, you’ll contribute to rebuilding communities devastated by war.

In your initial assignment, you’ll support the project manager in the reconstruction of a school and bomb shelter in a post-war affected community. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Project Coordination: Assisting in various aspects of the architectural project, such as design review, material sourcing, and progress tracking.
  • Community Engagement: Supporting workshops and public activities to foster community involvement and resilience.
  • Resource Analysis: Assisting in assessing the availability of building materials in the region, including local resources and opportunities for recycling and reuse.
  • Conduct field research to: Gather samples: Collect materials from local sources and suppliers (Hands-on: you will get dirty). Network with producers: Establish relationships with local manufacturers and suppliers of building materials.

After successfully contributing to this project, you’ll have the opportunity to lead your own initiatives focused on reconstruction, development, sustainable materials, and circular economy practices.

Key Tasks and Responsibilities:

  • Project management for the development of circular economy loops
  • Definition and monitoring of the schedule, compliance with deadlines
  • Customer relationship management in collaboration with the local team
  • Identification and management of subcontractors (such as laboratories, universities, transporters, and waste managers)
  • Writing deliverables including technical reports, audit reports and databases
  • On-site interventions (deconstruction sites, waste management platforms) for conducting visits (diagnostics and sampling will be required)
  • Participation and organization of steering and feedback meetings
  • Creation of grant files and follow-up with the competent authorities
  • Technical support to the business development team and support for the development of the region
  • Participation in the management and development of the ecosystem through monitoring meetings and planning of workload and opportunities
  • Given the nature of the company’s activities and organization and the on-going hostilities in Ukraine, this list is not exhaustive, and you will need to demonstrate adaptability.

Selection Criteria:

We will consider all candidates, however some of the following would be a distinct advantage:

  • Engineering school, Architecture school, master’s degree, or specialised master’s degree, preferably in the environment/circular economy, materials, or civil engineering
  • Initial experience in a business environment such as a construction design office, environmental consulting, sustainable construction, the circular economy, or any other activity that seems relevant to you
  • Some previous experience in project management, including experience of writing proposals, implementing activities, and monitoring and evaluating projects.

You will display:

  • Strong English and Ukrainian communication skills (written and verbal). Ukrainian and English language skills are required. Please note that English is the working language at Neo-Eco Ukraine.
  • Excellent diplomatic skills and an ability to represent an organization in large meetings.
  • Sensitivity and political savvy required to develop close relationships with local authorities, subcontractors, partners, donors, and residents at oblast, hromada, and village levels.
  • Excellent computer skills in Word, Excel, and Outlook.
  • Ability to work independently, highly organised, and proactive.
  • Team player
  • Able to thrive on a variety of tasks; flexible and easy-going.
  • Strong problem-solving abilities, strong logical analysis skills and a constructive attitude.

  • Candidates must have the right to live and work in Ukraine.
  • Candidates must have a clean driver’s licence (Ukraine)
