  1. About the role 

As a Junior Payroll Officer you want to develop a career in payroll. You will ensure correct payroll handling and personnel administration in some of the countries where the ECF employs staff (this may start with te 1 single country you were educated for). You will be part of our very motivated HR team to help deliver a great service to the organisation and you will report to the Payroll Manager. 

  1. Key Responsibilities   

Under supervision of a Senior Payroll Officer:  

  • Manages delegated payroll activity (knowledge of minimum 1 country payroll legislation is required; knowledge of other countries would be an asset) 

  • Explains employment conditions via induction sessions or answering staff payroll related questions 

  • Takes over from the recruiter when an offer is accepted and manages all the administrative work related to the start of an Employee (contract, insurances, benefits, etc.) 

  • Prepares and follows up the recurrent or event-linked administrative documentation and tasks for an employee (maternity leave, parental leave, contract extension or termination) 

  • Ensures a proper filing and archiving of employee’s employment information and documentation (social documents, contracts, absences…) 

  • Maintains HR email box by treating or dispatching mails 

 

  1. Experience and competencies   

 The ideal candidate has: 

  • Bachelor in HR, or equivalent due to experience 

  • Acquired a first experience in payrolling for at least one specific country, international payrolling is a plus 

  • Experience with at least 1 payrolling software systems, experience with Eblox-software is a plus 

  • Fluent in English, Dutch or French is a plus 

  • Structure and rigour: eye for detail, is well organised, analytic, with a problem-solving mindset 

  • Proactivity and a good capacity for working autonomously 

  • Used to work with HR software systems 

  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team player 

  • Discretion: the ability to handle confidential information in a highly professional way 

  • Interested in building a career in payrolling.
