Job Description:
Within the Project Development Team of the Carbon division, the candidate's main mission will be to manage and monitor the portfolio of carbon projects in which the company invests.
This is a diversified and growing portfolio that includes nature-based solutions and high-impact community projects (mangrove restoration, reforestation, improved cookstoves, access to clean water, etc.), certified by voluntary carbon standards (VCS, Gold Standard, etc.).
The candidate will report directly to the Carbon Projects Director and will have the following main responsibilities:
• Managing and fostering relationships with project partners:
o Serve as the primary point of contact for partners on ongoing projects, manage and nurture the partner relationship.
o Support partners in the operational implementation of projects.
o Monitor carbon certification work, validate key deliverables (Project Design Documents, Monitoring Reports, etc.).
o Ensure deadlines and timelines are respected, manage performance risks (timelines, volumes of carbon credits generated, etc.).
o Coordinate audits conducted by independent external auditors, provide support to local partners during audits with external verifiers.
o Produce and update project documentation: project sheets, activity and impact reports, photo and video databases, etc.
•Project monitoring and management:
o Coordinate project operations (activities and key milestones), monitor project progress and KPIs, and validate deliverables produced by implementation partners.
o Establish internal control procedures for projects (operational and financial audits).
o Conduct site visits and audits on behalf of Removall.
o Monitor project budgets and associated reporting.
o Manage contractual and administrative follow-up with project implementation partners.
o Prepare and lead quarterly project review committees.
Reporting:
•Reports to the Carbon Projects Director.
•Quarterly presentations to the executive committee.
Profile Description:
You are passionate about climate issues and developing high-impact projects in emerging or developing countries, results-oriented, and able to solve complex challenges related to carbon project development.
You are rigorous, organized, and comfortable working in an international and multicultural environment.
A strong appetite for fieldwork and managing operations in rural and underdeveloped areas is essential.
Education
•Master's degree or equivalent (Bac +5)
Required Experience
Minimum of 7 years of professional experience.
Significant experience in international project management in the environment or development sector (NGOs, international cooperation, etc.).
Field experience in developing countries.
Experience and knowledge of voluntary carbon certification mechanisms (VCS or Gold Standard).
Expected Skills
Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to adapt to various stakeholders.
Fluency in both French and English is required; an additional foreign language is a plus.
Excellent organizational skills: ability to prioritize, manage pressure, track the progress of multiple tasks simultaneously, and be ready to reorganize priorities in response to new information.
Leadership: ability to lead groups of stakeholders, drive project momentum, and unite teams around common goals.
Communication and empathy: understanding stakeholders, speaking their language, listening to their viewpoints, and understanding their interests.
Results-oriented: able to adapt to changing situations and have a plan A, B, and C to meet objectives.

Job Location and Mobility:
Position based in Nairobi, Kenya, with the possibility of remote work.
Frequent international business trips (around 20% of the time).
