LEVEL OF EFFORT: 32 - 40 hours per week

COMPENSATION: €500 per month – gross
Note: Only candidates with a valid work permit in the Netherlands will be considered for this internship.

The Global Center on Adaptation (GCA) is a leading international organization dedicated to addressing climate change and promoting adaptation action for resilient development. We collaborate with governments, International Financial Institutions (IFIs), businesses, and communities to develop and implement innovative solutions that strengthen resilience and support adaptation to climate change impacts.
Founded in 2018, our organization is based in regional offices across key global locations. Our Europe office is located in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, in the largest floating office in the world. We also have regional offices in Kenya, Ivory Coast, Bangladesh, and Beijing, as well as a dedicated knowledge and research hub in Groningen, the Netherlands.
Our work encompasses high-level policy development, research, agenda-setting, and advocacy to drive faster and deeper climate adaptation. We collaborate closely with partners to ensure the effective and efficient delivery of results where they are most needed.
WHAT WILL YOU DO

As an HR Intern, you will:
Assist with posting job vacancies, screening resumes, and scheduling interviews, gaining hands-on recruitment experience.
Support onboarding processes, ensuring a seamless transition for new employees.
Play a key role in integrating cutting-edge technologies into GCA’s HR operations while contributing to impactful projects such as introducing mental well-being platforms, rolling out flexible benefits systems, implementing payroll and L&D solutions.
Collaborate on initiatives to foster employee engagement and support GCA’s mission to innovate through a human-centric approach.
Learn to create, organize, and maintain employee files and contracts, ensuring compliance with HR policies.
Actively contribute to broader HR discussions by providing insights and perspectives on ongoing issues, identifying challenges, and proposing innovative solutions, including effectively communicating and rolling out new projects, apps, and policy changes. A background in communication would be highly valued to support these efforts and ensure impactful implementation.
