Responsibilities 

• Operation and maintenance activities involving the Power Plant and Electrical distribution HV systems; ensuring all duties under their responsibility are carried out in strict accordance with the MFO’s safety rules and operating procedures. 

• Organizing preventive and corrective maintenance and repairs, upgrades, and minor improvements.    

• Assist the Generator Mechanic with the generator maintenance in accordance with manufacturer’s instructions by operating high voltage switch gears to isolate generator from the electrical distribution system. 

• Assist the development of plans for power distribution, transformers or switch gear improvement, upgrades, and bills of material.  

• Monitors and maintains equipment and special tooling placed under his/her responsibility to include upkeep of Company/Site vehicles to the standards expected and detailed by the MFO.  

• Assists with the development of a program for regular training on workplace health and safety and the use of specialist tools.   

• Maintains detailed records of all work undertaken (in terms of description, work hours expended, and items used), and ensures accurate and timely completion of work orders.  Ensures that all work orders are raised in SAP, and these are maintained up-to date. 

• Cover 24 hour “on call” duty as required to provide the Camp with electrical power.   

•  The High Voltage Electrician, as part of the FEO team, may be required to perform or assist with other tasks as requested. These tasks will be both reasonable and within the skillsets of this job description to ensure that in doing so, there is no contravention of any MFO H&S policies.
