What we do

The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) works worldwide to provide humanitarian assistance to people affected by conflict and armed violence. We take action in response to emergencies and at the same time promote respect for international humanitarian law. We are an independent and neutral organization, and our mandate stems essentially from the Geneva Conventions of 1949. We work closely with National Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies and with their International Federation in order to ensure a concerted, rational and rapid humanitarian response to the needs of the victims of armed conflict or any other situation of internal violence. We direct and coordinate the international activities conducted in these situations.

Purpose

The Forensic Data Administrator is responsible for processing data to support ICRC activities on behalf of people entitled to ICRC protection & assistance. He/she contributes to the implementation of policies, rules, and procedures in the field of Protection data management to support Protection operational activities, decision-making through data processing and provides support for information analysis.

Accountabilities & Functional responsibilities

  • Understands the components of the forensic human identification process, and processes data accurately in relevant components as required, supporting the ICRC forensic humanitarian action in the context.
  • Processes as required in every procedure (collects/ digitizes/ archives/ controls/ corrects/ validates/ completes) the different types of forensic data managed under the Protection department.
  • Uses various databases and tools (Prot6, Resolve, Lebanon Forensic Mapping Center, Reporting tool, etc.), based on different forms, cards, messages, tables, etc.
  • Understands and applies the data entry procedures of the different tools used (Prot6, Resolve, Lebanon Forensic Mapping Center, Reporting tool, etc.).
  • Understands the individual follow-up process of the main categories of beneficiaries (detainees, missing cases, other cases), through the reading of their full history or individual file, reports proactively any identified discrepancy or delay to the Forensic Data Manager.
  • Ensures the timely reporting of the tasks performed, on the proper tools.
  • Carries out data corrections under the supervision and/or the request of the Forensic Data Manager.
  • Carries out office work such as scanning, photocopying, filing, Arabic and English Data typing, etc.
  • Contributes to the protection and security of individuals’ personal data.
  • May be asked to translate forms and data from the local language to English and vice versa.
  • Carries out basic data analysis upon the Forensic Data Manager request.

Certifications / Education required

  • Bachelor of Science (BS) degree in Information Management, data analysis, forensic data science, or any other related scientific discipline.

Professional Experience required

  • 2 years' of experience with databases and data management

What we offer

  • Salary Package: USD 1’570 – 2’213 USD/Month (As per ICRC salary scale, salary setting processes will determine fair setting in coherence with the qualifications of the applicant and the requirements of the job).
  • 13th Month of salary paid in December, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.
  • Annual Leave: 20 calendar working days of paid leave per year, pro rata basis in accordance with the period worked.
  • Health Insurance: 90% of premium fees under class B, coverage include: Doctor visits, Medicines, Therapy services, etc.)
  • International Retirement Saving Plan (IRSP): a contribution valued at 11.5% of your monthly salary, these savings are paid by the end of service as a lump sum.
  • Other benefits subject to internal rules and regulations: High Cost of Living Allowance (HCLA), Schooling allowance, eyeglasses, designated personal training budget for learning opportunities.

Additional information

Location: Beirut - Lebanon

Working Schedule: Monday to Friday, from 8am to 5pm.

Type of contract: fixed term, until December 31, 2025 (renewable based on the performance and need of the position)

Estimated start date: February 17, 2025.
