Duties and Responsibilities

The Digital Transformation Intern will play a pivotal role in supporting the digitalization efforts within UNRWA as part of the Digital Acceleration section within DITID. This internship offers a unique opportunity to gain hands-on experience in supporting and implementing digital initiatives that contribute to the organization's mission and objectives. The intern will report to the senior technical leads and work closely with the Head of Software development and architecture. The position will work closely with various teams in DITID, including coordinating inputs on digitalisation efforts agency-wide. They will collate and analyze information pertaining to UNRWA’s Digital Transformation, analyze existing processes, identify areas for digital transformation, and assist in the development and implementation of digital solutions. Key Responsibilities: 1- Assist in conducting assessments of current processes and workflows to identify opportunities for digital transformation. 2- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather requirements, define project scope, and develop digital transformation strategies. 3- Research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation relevant to the organization's mandate. 4- Support the design and implementation of digital solutions, including but not limited to, process automation, data analytics, and digital platforms. 5- Contribute to the documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices related to digital transformation initiatives. 6- Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of implemented digital solutions, collecting feedback, and recommending improvements. 7- Support communication efforts related to digital transformation projects, including the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials as needed.

Qualifications/special skills

Intern - DITID Key Responsibilities: Assist in conducting assessments of current processes and workflows to identify opportunities for digital transformation. Research and evaluate emerging technologies and trends in digital transformation relevant to the organization's mandate. Support the design and implementation of digital solutions, including but not limited to, process automation, data analytics, and digital platforms. Contribute to the documentation of processes, procedures, and best practices related to digital transformation initiatives. Assist in monitoring the effectiveness of implemented digital solutions, collecting feedback, and recommending improvements. Support communication efforts related to digital transformation projects, including the preparation of presentations, reports, and other materials as needed. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE Applicants must be students enrolled in or have recently completed (i.e. commence internship within one year of graduation date), either a graduate school programme (i.e. second university degree or equivalent degree, or higher) or the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor's level or equivalent), in a relevant field such as Digital Transformation, Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science or a related field. CONDITIONS OF SERVICE • The selected Intern will be based in UNRWA HQA Amman - Jordan. • The duration of the Contract is up to 6 months, and the possibility of extension is subject to continuing need and satisfactory performance. • Interns/volunteers on a normal full-time schedule are permitted to be absent on two working days per month of placement with the prior authorization of their supervisor. • Interns/volunteers who are unable to report to work due to illness have an obligation to in-form their supervisor as early as possible. • Interns/volunteers are entitled to take the Agency’s official holidays, which apply at the relevant duty station. Interns and volunteers on a part-time schedule will not be entitled to compensatory time off for an official holiday that falls on a day outside their normal part-time schedule. • The Intern/Volunteer is not entitled to any benefit, payment, subsidy, compensation or entitlement, nor is any amount payable by UNRWA to the Intern/Volunteer, including with respect to sickness, injury or death, associated with their placement with UNRWA. • The Intern/Volunteer must prove to the satisfaction of the Agency that he/she has adequate insurance coverage. Strong interest in digital transformation, innovation, and technology trends. Familiarity with digital tools and technologies, such as process automation platforms, data analytics tools, and cloud computing services. Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a multicultural environment. Proficiency in English; knowledge of another official United Nations language is an asset.
