JOB TITLE: Consultant Supply Chain

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Dubai
DURATION: 11months
BACKGROUND AND PURPOSE OF THE ASSIGNMENT:
UNHRD is a network of depots located in Ghana, Italy, UAE, Malaysia, Spain, and Panama that
procures, manages and transports emergency supplies for the humanitarian community. UNHD offers
free storage, procurement, transport, handling, and technical field expertise. Partners can request
services in any region and can coordinate their response efforts.
Under the overall management of the UNHRD Network Coordinator, the consultant will have the
following duties and responsibilities:
ACCOUNTABILITIES/RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Maintain oversight of UNHRD’s customer service and partner relations, ensuring that partners
needs are met, and manage key UNHRD partners to ensure service satisfaction
2. Maintain overall coordination of the UNHRD Network customer service’s response for critical
emergency operations that are multi-hub responses.
3. Act as project manager for ad-hoc projects with Partners
4. Implement a partner/customer survey to investigate the need for service diversification, customer
satisfaction and orientation.
5. Contribute to preparedness actions, providing technical recommendations and guidance and
monitoring the management of specific supply chain risks to enable WFP, governments and
other partners to quickly respond and deploy and resources at the onset of the crisis.
6. Ensure compliance of UNHRD operations with the established supply chain strategies, policies,
procedures and controls, and assist in the implementation of corporate standards, with special
emphasis on loss prevention, risk mitigation and cost-effectiveness.
7. Constantly review the performance of supply chain logistics operations to ensure that
appropriate internal controls are in place.
8. Manage sound internal workflow communication between all functional areas of the operations,
including customer service, logistics, warehouse & procurement to ensure comprehensive and
timely service is provided.
9. Provide technical supervision, training and guidance to the network Customer Service and
support the hub logistics officers with , training and guidance for Logistics and Warehouse
teams.
10. Be part of the UNHRD NCC team to review and streamline processes and establish reports and
compliance requirements, in collaboration with focal points.
11. Analyze and synthesize business data to best define and monitor KPI performance for both
UNHRD and partners.
12. Consolidate training needs and coordinate training and capacity building efforts for all UNHRD
staff in collaboration with the respective supervisors to ensure appropriate development and
enable high performance, including onboarding new staff.
13. Take responsibility for incorporating gender perspectives in all areas of work, to ensure equal
participation of women and men.
14. Performs all other duties as assigned within the development of WFP/UNHRD.
