OVERVIEW
Within the framework of UNITAR, the Division for Peace supports the establishment of peaceful, just and inclusive societies through enabling individuals, institutions and organisations to contribute meaningfully to sustainable peace. The Division provides a range of capacity-building solutions including, but not limited to: training and facilitation;; e-learning; online courses and academic programmes, advocacy, and advisory. The Division's thematic portfolio includes such areas as peace operations; peacemaking and conflict prevention; counter-terrorism and preventing/countering violent extremism; disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration; youth, peace and security; women, peace and security; rule of law, maritime governance and others.
Learning Solutions is a team of learning specialists, trainers, instructional designers and innovators supporting the implementation of training and capacity-building projects of UNITAR's Division for Peace. The Learning Solutions team focuses on creating high-quality, needs-based, creative and innovative learning solutions for internal processes and external partners, with a strong emphasis on training of trainers, facilitation, eLearning, digital solutions, research and development, digitalisation and the UN 2.0 framework.
This roster is targeted towards experts working in various fields related to educational technology, information technology, and artificial intelligence for learning to collaborate with the Learning Solutions team, the hub of innovation and learning in the programme. Application to this vacancy will offer the opportunity for selected candidates to become part of the Division for Peace roster. Suitable candidates will be chosen based on their experience and expertise, according to the demands of any future projects.
RESPONSIBILITIES / DESCRIPTION OF PROFESSIONAL SERVICE
The objectives of the call are to create a roster of qualified applicants who would be available on a periodic basis to provide expertise and qualified services for a variety of UNITAR’s programmes and projects, thereby aiding in the implementation of the deliverables included in project documents. The goal is to provide UNITAR with high-quality, accurate, dependable, and timely services whenever necessary for the effective execution of the projects' operations.
This represents a recruitment opportunity that allows UNITAR to rapidly contract selected consultants for assistance. For each unique project, the delivery schedule, scope of work, reporting, and other details will be decided case-by-case in compliance with the Terms of Reference (ToR) created for that particular requirement. After successful validation, UNITAR will consider candidates for short-term assignments in this area. Selected experts must maintain satisfactory service to remain on the roster, and the retention of selected specialists will depend on their continued performance.
Those accepted into the roster database will be considered to assist UNITAR’s activities by offering services in the following capacities:

- Learning Analytics Specialist

QUALIFICATIONS
1. EdTech Specialist
- Advanced degree in Educational Technology, Instructional Design, or related field.
- Proven experience in developing and deploying EdTech solutions.
- Strong knowledge of learning management systems (LMS) and educational software.
- Proficiency in programming languages such as JavaScript, HTML5 and CSS3 is an asset.
2. Artificial Intelligence for Learning Specialist
- Advanced degree in Artificial Intelligence, Machine Learning, or related field.
- Proven experience in AI development and deployment, with a focus on applying AI to optimise educational processes and results.
- Strong programming skills in languages such as Python or R.
- Experience with AI frameworks and libraries such as TensorFlow, Keras, and PyTorch.
3. SharePoint Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
- Extensive experience with SharePoint development and administration.
- Strong understanding of SharePoint workflows, web parts, and customisations.
- Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.
4. Digital Transformation Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Information Technology, or related field.
- Proven experience in managing digital transformation projects.
- Strong understanding of digital tools and platforms.
- Experience with change management and process improvement techniques.
5. Data Analyst and Data Visualisation Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, or related field.
- Extensive experience in data analysis and visualisation.
- Proficiency in data visualisation tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
- Strong skills in statistical analysis and modelling techniques.
6. Learning Analytics Specialist
- Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Educational Technology, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in data analysis and learning analytics.
- Experience with educational data systems and LMS analytics.
- Knowledge of educational theories and instructional design principles.
- Proficiency in English is essential
- Proficiency in French, Spanish, Arabic or another official UN language will be considered an asset.
