JOB TITLE: COMMUNICATIONS ASSOCIATE,PHOTOGRAPHER/VIDEOGRAPHER

DUTY STATION (City, Country): Port-au-Prince,
DURATION: 12 months (renewable)
FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES :
Researching, scripting, planning, preparation of assignments from start to finish, including security and travel arrangements. Planning and managing pre-mission briefings and post-mission debrief calls, to align on deliverables and logistics. Travelling to the field to capture high-quality photos and video. Interviewing and gathering informed consent from interviewees, following WFP consent guidance and forms. Transcribing and/or translating interviews from Creole to French/English and compile shot lists. Preparing content, though script writing, video/photo editing and other means, for use on traditional and social media platforms and networks to enhance coverage and support of WFP’s activities, ensuring consistency with corporate messages. Contributing to concept development, content collection and production of thematic multimedia projects documenting activities and role of WFP in the country. Preparing b-roll footage for use by the regional bureau, headquarters and outside media outlets, and contribute to development of video news releases. Deliveing on-camera or voiceover messages in line with preapproved communications key messaging. Ensuring relevant information is collected, and maintained in appropriate files and databases, by self or others, so that accurate records are available for others to access. Delivering footage (interviews and/or bespoke b-roll packages) with detailed video logs via the Multimedia Hub Developing and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, in order to keep abreast of relevant information, and deliver aligned, coherent Communications processes and activities. Ensuring accuracy, clarity, cohesion and conformity with WFP and United Nations standards, policies and practice. Managing use of drone for collection of communications content, in line with approved country office standard operating protocols related to drone usage in relation to communications activities. Provide training and technical support for drone users in the Country Office and field offices. Upon request, assist with development of graphic designs for social media, documents, printed materials and other visibility items.
DELIVERABLES AT END OF THE CONTRACT:
Production of professional, high-resolution photos taken during distributions in the field, selected, edited, organised and captioned. Production of professional videos including edited videos and b-roll Execution of multimedia projects integrating audio, video, photography and written storytelling techniques. Maintenance of searchable archive of multimedia material. Creation of social media and traditional media assets.

EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Education: Completion of secondary school education and a post-secondary certificate in the related functional area.
Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in the UN language in use at the duty station (French) and in the duty station’s language (Haitian Creole). Fluency (level C) or intermediate knowledge (level B) of another official UN language is an asset.
Applicants must be Haitian nationality.
