DESCRIPTION OF DUTIES
The main responsibilities related to the development assignment are as follows:
. Provide technical support and policy advice in the development and implementation of national health policies, strategies, plans, and guidelines to strengthen the country's health system towards achieving UHC and health security. Some current strategies/guidelines under development/review include the Human Resources for Health Strategy, National Immunization Strategy, National Cancer Control Plan, National Guidelines for HPV DNA Screening for Cervical Cancer, Drug Control Masterplan, and review of the Infant Feeding Policy.
. Provide technical support and strengthen the capacity of national stakeholders to organize and lead effective health policy dialogues including on the review of PHC service delivery models, and overall PHC revitalization for the delivery of quality, integrated, people-centered primary care services.
. Provide technical assistance in the development and review of relevant health workforce policies, strategies and plans including the conduct of relevant reviews/assessments towards improving health workforce development in the country. This work will include development of the HRH strategy, facilitating dialogue on the conduct of a Scope of Practice review for selected health cadres, and finalization/endorsement of key HRH documents.
. Provide technical support in the implementation of priority health financing initiatives and interventions including finalization of the National Health Accounts (NHA) reports (2022-2023), conduct of NHA 2024, development of relevant health policy briefs, and conduct of efficiency analyses.
. Support in the development, review, implementation and evaluation of policies, strategies (including the health strategic plan mid-term evaluation), and plans, for improving access to and quality of medicines, diagnostics, and technologies.
. Provide technical support towards strengthening country capacity in data and innovation; including strengthening of health information systems, conduct of an eHealth landscape analysis, conduct of annual health sector performance reviews, and generation/monitoring of data for action.
Identify synergies and networking between the WHO country office and other UN organizations, non-state actors, and international donors, and collaborate with identified partners as relevant; participate in relevant sectoral and inter-sectoral working groups.

REMUNERATION
Your current contractual arrangements and benefits will not be affected. If your developmental assignment involves a short-term move to another duty station, you will receive the hotel component of the first 60 days DSA rate of the duty station where you will be temporarily based throughout the entire assignment. Travel costs in economy class will be covered.
EXPECTED BENEFITS
Benefits expected for the receiving office:
Provide policy level technical support to the Ministry of Health in Seychelles on strengthening health systems for the achievement of UHC using the PHC approach, during the absence of the Health Policy Advisor (UHC).
