Description for Internal Candidates |
Applications are welcome from internal and external candidates. Responsibilities
- Assist in the implementation and monitoring of project activities.
- Retrieve, compile, summarize, and present information/data on specific project topics.
- Support administrative coordination of project implementation, involving liaison with diverse organizational units and external parties to initiate requests, obtain necessary clearances, process and follow-up on administrative actions, etc.
- Monitor the provision of migrant assistance and protection services in the TTCs in Gevgelija and Tabanovce by conducting weekly (or bi-weekly) site visits with the aim to strengthen the migrants’ access to quality services.
- Monitor the infrastructure and hygiene maintenance of the sites to identify gaps and areas for intervention according to the nationally accepted standards to meet the needs of migrants and refugees.
- Draft visit reports that will capture the views and concerns of the personnel, stakeholders, as well as the migrants present in the TTCs and report the findings to the project management.
- Draft statistics and reports on the arrivals and the provided services to the migrants and refugees at the TTCs that will be reported regularly to the project management team.
- Draft correspondence, reports, briefing notes, graphics, statistical tables, presentations and other forms of documentation.
- Respond to general information requests and inquiries; set up and maintain files/records.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- School diploma with four years of relevant experience; or,
- Bachelor’s degree in Political or Social Sciences, International Relations, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with two years of relevant professional experience.
Accredited Universities are those listed in the UNESCO World Higher Education Database.
Experience
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in working with migrants, refugees, internally displaced persons, victims of trafficking and other vulnerable groups; and,
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage
Languages
- English language is required
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
