Finance, Procurement, and Administration Assistant
INTRODUCTION TO GGGI
The Global Green Growth Institute (GGGI) is a treaty-based international, inter-governmental organization dedicated to supporting and promoting strong, inclusive and sustainable economic growth in developing countries and emerging economies. To learn more please visit about GGGI web page.
GGGI has a diverse portfolio of programs in developing countries around the world. These in-country programs, together with global products and services, focus on delivering results through an integrated approach of evidence-based green growth planning and implementation aligned to countries’ development priorities.
CONTEXT
The Colombia, Peru, and Ecuador country programs under the leadership of the Andean Representative comprise GGGI's Andean Country Programs. The Andean Countries Programs manage around 15 projects related to various matters like sustainable finance, biodiversity, circular economy, sustainable energy, and climate action, among others. The Operations Enabling Division (OED) Team works in a cross-cutting manner for the three countries to enable the operations of the projects by developing financial, administrative, procurement, and human resources tasks.
The UK Government funds UK PACT (Partnering for Accelerated Climate Transitions) through its International Climate Finance (ICF) portfolio. UK PACT Country Programs respond directly to priorities identified by partner governments and provide grants for capacity-building projects in priority areas. In Peru, GGGI will implement a project financed by UKPACT to develop innovative financial mechanisms to support Peru’s NBSAP (National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans). The project seeks to increase access to sustainable finance that allows the country to meet its long-term goals for biodiversity conservation and increased access to finance for local stakeholders, contributing to the financial sustainability of different conservation models and strategies.
