Job Description
The Border Management and Border Integration Project under the Multiannual Indicative Plan (MIP) Belize 2021-2027 of the European Union (EU) International Partnerships and within the Priority Area 2 action, seeks to improve the capacities of officials in the Government of Belize and NGOs involved in Forest Conservation and Patrol activities.
Under the direct supervision of the National Project Officer of the IBM EU Project in Belize, the Data/ICT Project Assistant IBG will support the implementation of the project activities in Belize. The Data/ICT Project Assistant IBG will carry out its duties in close coordination with other IOM staff in country as well as in other countries in the region and in coordination with the Immigration and Border Governance Regional Thematic Unit at the IOM Regional Office for Latin America and the Caribbean.
Responsibilities
- Support the work of the ICT in data collection and coordination of workshops, and training sessions; preparing meeting minutes and documenting topics discussed and pictures taken at the meetings/ events.
- Maintain effective liaison and coordination with local authorities relevant to support the implementation of the project, including diverse government departments with responsibilities on migration, conservation and disaster risk management.
- Compile, summarize, analyze, and present information/data on specific program activities, supporting monitoring and evaluation efforts for program activities.
- Prepare data reports on program activities highlighting noteworthy issues for the consideration of appropriate parties and maintain electronic files/records.
- Act as a focal point for administrative, procurement and financial coordination of project implementation, to obtain necessary clearances, follow-up on administrative and financial actions, in relation to the ICT components of the project, including installation of equipment.
- Support in developing terms of references, concept notes, and other technical documents as needed in accordance to IOM internal administrative requirements and project activities.
- Support the data, monitoring, evaluation, capacity-building and awareness-raising activities for the ICT components of the project.
- Contribute to knowledge management processes. .

Qualifications
Education & experience |
|
- Bachelor’s degree in field of ICT, Data Management Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Environment or related fields from an accredited academic institution.

Experience |
-
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies, Consular representatives and nongovernmental organizations will be an advantage.
- Prior work experience with international humanitarian organizations, nongovernment or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage.
- Experience in data management and analysis
- Experience in ICT project coordination and technical support, ICT systems development and maintenance related to migration environment in general,
- Experience in writing reports in English coherently in a timely manner.
- Experience in similar positions with administrative and logistics responsibilities.
- Management of data processing programs.
- Any other duties as assigned
