AIIB's Portfolio Management Department (PMD) is responsible for monitoring AIIB’s rapidly growing investment portfolio, which includes loans and equity investments with or without sovereign guarantees and assisting management and project teams to ensure portfolio quality. PMD’s main functions include: (1) monitoring the entire Investment Operations portfolio and provides portfolio reports and data analytics; (2) managing the non-sovereign-backed financing (NSBF) assets that have been transferred to PMD; (3) coordinating the design and implementation of IT systems for Investment Operations (IO); and (4) providing Secretariat services to the Investment Committee.
PMD is recruiting a Portfolio Associate (Associate) for PMD’s Middle Office (PMD-MO) function. Reporting to a Portfolio Officer in the Middle Office, the Associate (Middle Office) will carry out portfolio analytic and administrative work to support Portfolio Management teams in monitoring and managing AIIB’s investment portfolio and ensuring portfolio quality.
Responsibilities:
- Support the Head of PMD-MO in strengthening Middle Office procedures and practices that will enhance service standards, create efficiencies, and reduce operational risks.
- Ensure adherence by clients to the contractual obligations under finance documents, particularly the timely submission of reportorial requirements.
- Assist Portfolio Management teams in the coordination and timely recovery of project-related expenses, as necessary.
- Ensure timely processing of utilization requests and verification of compliance with various disbursement conditions.
- Work closely with other internal stakeholders to ensure the completeness and accuracy of the database of project-related data and documentation for management information.
- Participate in the planning of various initiatives designed to facilitate PMD’s interaction with other units and in the development of systems and procedures to facilitate the credit administration process.
- Support the Head of PMD-MO in liaising with other Bank departments as necessary.
- Assist in the documentation of lessons learned and operational insights and the feedback to Investment Operation teams and Portfolio Management teams to continuously improve the Bank’s operations and systems.
Requirements:
- 3-5 years of relevant working experience in monitoring project implementation for infrastructure investment operations.
- Basic knowledge of major infrastructure sectors, such as energy, transport, water, and/or urban development.
- Strong analytical skills.
- Superior written and verbal communication skills in English with a demonstrated ability to think strategically and synthesize complex issues (translated into effective oral and written briefs) and the ability to comprehend complex project contracts.
- Ability to collaborate with other team members and contribute productively to the team's work and output, demonstrating respect for different points of view.
- Bachelor’s or Master’s degree (such as economics, finance, business administration, international relations, social sciences, or similar field relevant to AIIB’s operations).
