Purpose of consultancy:
The HR Data Junior Consultant will support initiatives and processes related to the implementation of UNFPA’s 2030 People Strategy such as: talent data insights related to talent and career development, talent management/mobility, workforce planning/analytics, competency measurement, and other data analytics projects..
During the term of this consultancy, the incumbent will be expected to perform the following activities:
● Provide data and analytics support to HR-related projects e.g. workforce planning, talent mobility and development, performance management,.
● Support the workforce planning and data analytics team to e.g. develop/maintain reports using PowerBI.
● Provide support to maintaining the Organization Design and Workforce Planning Framework by maintaining underlying data sources.
● Support a strategic review of the skills and future potential of our talent, including data collection, analysis and development of calibration materials.
● Maintain accurate and current talent data for people in leadership rosters, to facilitate efficient and advantageous staffing decisions.
● Support the Annual Rotation Exercise by collecting and analyzing data from regional offices and rotating staff members to facilitate a fruitful rotation panel discussion.
The consultant will report to the Chief, Career Development and Talent Mobility Branch, Division for Human Resources.
Required Expertise and Qualifications:
● Minimum 1 year work experience is required
● First work experience within the UN system is required
● Experience in using tools such as Python, R, Studio, PowerBI
● Excellent skills in data analysis and management
● Experience in using data driven methods for HR processes
● Good communication and presentation skills
● Advanced proficiency in MS Excel is required
Education:
● Masters’ degree in Economics, Business Management, HR, Data-related fields
Languages:
● English and knowledge of another UN language is an asset
Expected Travel: Travelling may be required depending on relevant tasks of the portfolio and will be decided with the consultant.
