The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. The Office of the Controller (CTL) is at the forefront of leveraging advanced technologies to improve efficiency and productivity in financial processes. In 2024, CTL successfully implemented several AI use cases, including tools for responding to inquiries, summarizing documents, and enhancing operational efficiency. 

As part of its 2025 work initiatives, CTL plans to further explore the adoption of Artificial General Intelligence (AGI) within the department. This effort will focus on identifying and implementing innovative solutions that support process improvement and drive productivity gains across various finance functions. 

Responsibilities:

The internship aims to: 

  • Support CTL’s exploration and implementation of AGI use cases in finance. 
  • Contribute to process improvement initiatives by identifying opportunities for AGI adoption. 
  • Assist in analyzing and documenting the outcomes of AGI implementations for future scalability. 

The intern will: 

  • Research and Analysis: 

Conduct research on AGI trends and applications in finance. 

Benchmark AGI adoption in similar industries and organizations. 

Analyze the potential for AGI integration into existing workflows. 

  • Development Support: 

Assist in identifying specific finance processes that can benefit from AGI. 

Support the development and testing of AGI-based prototypes or pilots. 

Collaborate with team members to refine AGI solutions. 

  • Documentation and Reporting: 

Document findings, processes, and lessons learned from AGI implementations. 

Prepare presentations and reports for stakeholders summarizing the impact and recommendations.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate should: 

  • Be pursuing a degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Finance, or a related field. 
  • Have a strong interest in AI/AGI and its applications in finance. 
  • Possess analytical and problem-solving skills, with experience in research and business analysis. 
  • Be proficient in programming languages like Python, and have familiarity with AI/ML tools and frameworks. 
  • Have excellent written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Great team player. 
  • Fluent in oral and written English.
