The PhD or Masters Intern will contribute to our Compliance and Operational Risk function through the use of Automation and Artificial Intelligence (AI). As a PhD Intern, you will develop AI frameworks and explore AI solutions for enhancing tax transparency. This internship is perfect for DBA, PhD or master’s candidates with a background in AI, Data Engineering, Business Process Management, Data Management or Data Sciences. 

Responsibilities:

1. Artificial Intelligence Research Applied to International Tax Transparency: 

  • Research and take part and assist in seeking application of Automation and/or AI and/or Data Engineering in Tax Transparency of a development Bank investing in Infrastructure for Tomorrow. 
  • Research and take part and assist in development of solutions/AI for mostly unstructured data, NLP or Generative AI technologies. 
  • Research and take part and assist in analyzing tax data in the context of Risk Management from recognized international standards setters’ bodies such as OECD or FATF for AI to think about how to get insights into risks, trends and opportunities for improvement within AIIB’s tax transparency framework and also taking into consideration other open-source available data. 

2. AI Process Solutions, AI Integration and Automation Applied to International Tax Transparency: 

  • Propose AI-driven solutions and/or automation solutions for unstructured data that can streamline tax transparency internal reporting (OKRs, KRI, KPI, Dashboards) and tax transparency risk monitoring, processes and solutions. 
  • Assess the feasibility and scalability of AI-powered analytics, proposing a roadmap, dashboards, and automated monitoring systems for tax transparency, documenting potential implementation strategies within AIIB’s ecosystem and IT infrastructure. 
  • Collaborate with the IT and RMD Market and Analytics team to outline the technical requirements for integrating automation and AI solutions into existing processes. 

Requirements:

  • Currently enrolled in a PhD, DBA or Masters applied research program on AI, Data Engineering or Solution Design, with a focus on business processes management application and execution. 
  • Fluent in English, with effective written and verbal communication skills. 
  • Ability with business process model and notation methodologies (e.g., BPMN) and project management solutions. 
  • Skilled in seeking to understand first and producing structured documentation, including process maps and business requirements. Experience in automation using AI, especially in handling unstructured data with NLP or Generative AI technologies. 
  • Excellent communication skills, ability to work well with a diverse multi-cultural team.
