The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.
The assignment is to provide general business management support to the Multilateral Cooperation Center for Development Finance (MCDF) Secretariat. MCDF is a multilateral initiative that supports high-quality infrastructure investments and connectivity in developing countries through partnerships and the promotion of accredited International Financial Institutions (IFIs) standards and best practices in connectivity projects. MCDF’s activities include project preparation, capacity building, and information sharing. MCDF is comprised of:
- A Collaboration Platform that promotes communication and collaboration between MCDF partner governments, IFIs and emerging market investors about standards and best practices, and infrastructure pipelines.
- A Finance Facility to support grants for MCDF activities.
- A Secretariat that supports the day-to-day MCDF operations.
- An Administrator that provides financial and other support services to MCDF.
AIIB serves as the Administrator of MCDF and host of the MCDF Secretariat. The MCDF Secretariat provides program management and administrative services to support the MCDF Finance Facility and the MCDF Collaboration Platform. It is administratively established by, but functionally independent from, AIIB.
The MCDF Business Management Intern will provide support to the MCDF Secretariat to facilitate business planning and implementation.
Responsibilities:
- Help streamline workflows and procedures and facilitate coordination and decision making across MCDF Secretariat teams
- Support the execution of the MCDF Secretariat workplan to realize MCDF’s business objectives per its timelines and budget
- Help improve MCDF’s contact management database and document management system
- Help prepare administrative materials for meetings, events, and other activities
- Provide other support to the MCDF Secretariat, in accordance with the skills and background of the successful candidate
Requirements:
- Currently enrolled in a Masters/MBA or PhD program, preferably specialized in economics, engineering, finance, public administration, international relations, development studies, or other fields related to the financing, construction, and operation of infrastructure in developing countries
- Passion for international development and related areas, ideally with some previous work experience in a developing country or international organization
- Excellent time management skills and able to produce high-quality work based on tight deadlines
- Excellent communication skills
- Great team player
- Fluent in oral and written English
