The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) is a multilateral development bank whose mission is Financing Infrastructure for Tomorrow in Asia and beyond—infrastructure with sustainability at its core. We began operations in Beijing in 2016 and have since grown to 110 approved members worldwide. We are capitalized at USD100 billion and AAA-rated by the major international credit rating agencies. Collaborating with partners, AIIB meets clients’ needs by unlocking new capital and investing in infrastructure that is green, technology-enabled and promotes regional connectivity.

ASEAN Power Grid (APG) – APG is a regional initiative aimed at enhancing energy security, sustainability, and integration among the 10 member states of the Association of Southeast Asian Nations (ASEAN). It seeks to create a multilateral power trading platform by interconnecting the national electricity grids of ASEAN countries. The Bank is working with ASEAN Secretariate, ASEAN Center for Energy, and other DFIs to support this initiative through various financing instruments.

Climate Policy – The Bank has recently approved Climate Policy Based Financing (CPBF). Most ASEAN countries have NDC commitment and set carbon neutrality target. It is thus important that policy is supporting these countries to meet its target and commitment through primarily successful energy transition. AIIB’s CPBF is to provide budget support to member governments for their responses to climate change, including both climate mitigation and adaptation.

The Intern will support the research and preparation of different initiatives under APG. Activities include, but are not limited to:
