Overview
Un Ponte Per (UPP) is an NGO established in 1991. It has started its activities as “Un ponte per Baghdad”, right after the end of the war in Iraq, with the aim of organizing solidarity initiatives in favor of the Iraqi civil society. Later on, the intervention of Un Ponte Per started including Serbia and other Middle Eastern and Mediterranean countries. The NGO mission is to prevent new conflicts, protect human rights and support civil society, especially in the Middle East, through humanitarian and development programs, always supporting the local civil society. UPP is active in Iraq since 1991 and is regularly registered at the National and Kurdistan Region levels.
The Project
This project, funded by the European Union, aims to strengthen civic space in Iraq, to have civil society organizations in Iraq acting as independent actors of good governance and development in their own right.
Job Description
UPP is seeking a skilled advocacy and campaigning trainer to conduct an in-person, two-day training in Baghdad. The training is targeted to civil society organizations. The trainer will guide the participants in developing a complete advocacy strategy, with a focus on communication on social media.
Main Duties and Responsibilities:
• The trainer will develop comprehensive training materials tailored for a two-day session focused on advocacy targets.
• The trainer will include a specific focus on communication skills for online and offline campaigning.
• The trainer will facilitate the training with a participatory method to engage participants actively, and will adopt an approach that takes into consideration power dynamics between participants, building a safe space for active engagement.
• The trainer will provide participants with copies of the materials used during the training.
ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENT :
Qualifications & Experience:
• Previous experience in conducting training on advocacy and campaigning.
• Cultural awareness and ability to engage and communicate with a diverse audience.
• Attention to detail.
Knowledge:
• Excellent communication and facilitation skills.
• Aware of cultural and social diversity and inclusive.
• Self-reliant and able to work independently.
• Literacy in Microsoft Office Programs.
• Personal integrity and credibility
• Good time management and organizational skills
• Patient, adaptable, flexible and remain responsive and communicate clearly and effectively under pressure.
Languages:
Fluency in Arabic is essential, and proficiency in English is an advantage.
