Overview of position

The Regional Bureau Asia with CTG is seeking a highly skilled, experienced & dynamic Senior Security Manager to oversee the safety, security & operational access of our activities in Afghanistan & across the Asia region. This is a critical leadership role focused on driving strategic security initiatives, leading a dedicated security team & ensuring CTG’s operations are protected across the country & the region.

Role objectives

As the Regional Senior Security Manager, you will:

  • Lead & develop the security team: Inspire, mentor & motivate the national security team, ensuring their well being & high performance. Provide guidance, set clear objectives & offer training to enhance team capabilities.

  • Conduct context & risk analysis: Assess & analyze security risks across Afghanistan & across the Asian region, regularly updating security profiles & risk matrices. Stay ahead of emerging threats by gathering intelligence & monitoring security incidents, ensuring the safety of CTG personnel.

  • Develop security policies & plans: Design & implement security policies, SOPs & emergency protocols tailored to local conditions. Advise senior management on security updates, ensuring continuous improvement of CTG’s security framework.

  • Ensure daily security management & crisis response: Oversee the implementation of security protocols across the field. Manage crisis situations, including evacuation, relocation planning & ensure that field teams are well prepared to handle emergencies.

  • Training & communication: Conduct regular security briefings, enhance staff awareness & ensure compliance with CTG’s security procedures. Provide ongoing support to international staff & clients.

  • Strengthen stakeholder engagement: Build strong relationships with local authorities, UN agencies & NGOs to enhance situational awareness & secure operational access.

  • Strengthen visibility of CTG with the authorities: Through regular meeting with the authorities of Afghanistan (in Kabul & provinces), increase the visibility & knowledge of the authorities on CTG’s activities. establish & facilitate relationships between CTG & IEA authorities.

Project reporting

This role reports to the Regional Director.

Key competencies

Technical skills:

  • Expertise in security analysis, emergency planning, crisis management, risk assessment & incident reporting.

  • Strong operational oversight & hands on experience with local & international security agencies.

Personal competencies:

  • Strategic thinker, able to lead & manage diverse teams in high pressure environments.

  • Excellent communication, reporting & stakeholder management skills.

Travel:

  • Willingness & ability to travel frequently to remote & high risk locations for field assessments & operational support.

Geographical experience:

  • At least 5 years of experience in security management, particularly in high risk or remote areas of Afghanistan.
