Join Street Child as a Fundraising and Communication Officer in Spain

Street Child Spain (SCES) is a non-profit organization dedicated to providing quality education, child protection, and sustainable livelihoods to the most disadvantaged children across some of the world’s poorest and most crisis-affected regions. SCES is an independent partner of the global Street Child network, which includes 8 European partner organizations and supports projects in over 20 countries across Africa and Asia.

Street Child Spain is looking for a passionate professional to support its fundraising efforts in the Spanish market. As our Fundraising and Communication Officer, you will contribute to fundraising activities, helping the team in Spain achieve its annual targets. You will also work closely with our global fundraising teams in Barcelona and London as part of a collaborative international network.

This is a on onsite position based in Barcelona.

Key Responsibilities

Fundraising Support (70%)

  • Write grant proposals to funders (foundations, trusts, corporates, and public funders).
  • Support the Country Manager and the Grant Manager in managing donor relationships, including but not limited to preparing project reports and representing Street Child Spain when required.
  • Research new opportunities and support to establish strategic partnerships, including corporate ones.
  • Help pursue unrestricted funding opportunities, including campaigns, affiliate marketing, challenges and events.
  • Contribute to manage a small team of interns and volunteers.

Communications & External Engagement (30%)

  • Collaborate with the global and the European communications team to draft and publish content for the SCES website, social media platforms, and annual reports, supported by interns and volunteers.
  • Assist with updates to communication channels and participate in external events where SCES is involved.
  • Engage and support SCES’ community of volunteers, interns and supporters by providing updates and organizing get-together events from time to time.
  • Support the Country Manager in communication with the Board and in related admin tasks.

Your Profile

  • Passionate about Street Child’s mission and values.
  • A university degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience.
  • Excellent written and spoken communication in Spanish and English. Catalan is a plus.
  • Proficiency in managing and optimizing social media content (e.g., Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn) and familiarity with design tools such as Canva. 
  • Creativity, initiative, and a strong sense of responsibility.
  • Flexibility and adaptation to a changing and growing environment.
  • Ability to work independently in an international environment while being a supportive team player.
  • Willingness to learn about Spain administrative and financial topics.

Our Offer

  • Work in a truly international environment as part of the growing Street Child family.
  • Flexible working hours, with an expectation to work 80% of the time in the Barcelona office.
  • Full-time employment, with flexibility to discuss other arrangements.
  • Salary range (depending on experience): €20,000–€25,000 gross per annum.
