Job Description
Under the supervision of the Head of Office, the Senior Information Management Associate will be responsible for supporting the coordination flow and information management activities and oversight of IOM’s Romania information management system.
The incumbent will be based in Bucharest, Romania
Responsibilities
- Support the overall coordination of information and data management across IOM projects.
- Coordinate the implementation and maintenance of database and information system solutions of an integrated IOM Romania IM system including, but not limited to, integration and centralization of databases and development of a common interface.
- Support the implementation of mission’s Information Management Systems and reporting tools, including via SharePoint and other working sheets, and beneficiary management system.
- As part of the development of integrated beneficiary registration and case management information management systems, coordinate the implementation, and maintenance of data management systems in line with the IOM Data Protection principles.
- Support the effective implementation of various IM tools for other IOM units and partners; provide regular monitoring as per agreed timelines; assist in standardizing data collection processes and the overall data management activities of IOM programmes and implementing partners.
- Prepare and generate information products and visualization, and support on information sharing and dissemination to all relevant channels.
- Support data reporting for internal situation reports, interagency response plan reporting, complaints feedback mechanism reports, and donor reports.
- Facilitate the planning, development, and delivery of data management trainings to field staff and partner organizations: IOM Data Protection Principles, Data Collection, Data Storage & Data Sharing, appropriate use of the population lists.
- Performs such other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
EDUCATION
- High-School diploma with six years of relevant experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree from an accredited academic institution in System Engineering, Information Technology, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Science or a related field with four years of relevant work experience.
EXPERIENCE
- Experience in liaising with governmental authorities, national/international institutions, United Nations agencies and non-governmental organizations;
- Experience in information or database management;
- Experience with international humanitarian organizations, non-government or government institutions/organization in a multi-cultural setting is an advantage;
- Experience with handling confidential data and demonstrated understanding of different data collection methodologies.
SKILLS
- IM-Statistics Analysis
- Proficiency in IT-Microsoft Excel
- Good interpersonal and analytical skills as well as the ability to interact effectively with teams
- Experience in web design is an asset
Languages
REQUIRED
For all applicants, fluency in English and Romanian is required (oral and written).
DESIRABLE
Any other IOM official language will be considered as advantageous
