About NRC:
The Norwegian Refugee Council (NRC) is a non-governmental humanitarian organization with 75 years of experience in helping to create a safer and more dignified life for refugees and internally displaced people. NRC advocates for the rights of displaced populations and offers assistance within the shelter, education, food security, livelihoods, legal Assistance, and water, sanitation, and hygiene sectors. The Norwegian Refugee Council has approximately 6000 committed and competent employees involved in projects across four continents. NRC runs the world's largest standby roster, NORCAP, with 650 professionals ready to be deployed on 72 hours notice when a crisis occurs.
NRC in the Islamic Republic of Iran:
NRC started operations in Iran in 2012. We currently deliver humanitarian assistance in 10 provinces in Education, Food Security and livelihoods, Water, Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH), Shelter construction, as well as Information, Counseling, and Legal Assistance (ICLA). We co-lead several technical inter-agency working groups and provide capacity building to humanitarian partners in the country. Next to our programs, NRC Iran also built an advocacy unit to develop joint messages and initiatives among INGOs to improve the rights of the displaced. Following several recent breakthroughs, NRC Iran is scaling up substantially its activities in support of the Government of Iran's efforts towards an estimated 3,6 million Afghans residing in the country and is expanding its programme unit.
Role and responsibilities
Generic responsibilities:
- Ensure adherence with NRC policies, tools, handbooks, and guidelines
- Ensure compliance with NRC Safe and Inclusive Programming guidelines and tools.
- Assist implementation of the protection portfolio according to plan of action, best-practice, and international Protection standards.
- Assist in organization and delivery of tasks in line with established procedures, agreed priorities, international standards, and relevant guiding principles.
- Ensure proper filing of documents and confidentiality of stored information
Specific responsibilities
- Conduct Case management and IPA assessments including development of action plans, PFA, referrals, and other necessary follow ups
- Record and complete data entry for Protection assessments in the database, in a timely manner and in accordance with relevant procedures
- Ensure accurate data entry of all cases received
- Ensure that all data and information pertaining to case management are handled in strict and confidential manner, and in line with applicable data protection and information sharing protocols
- Any others task relevant to the position and as requested by the line manager
Competencies
Professional competencies
Generic professional competencies:
- Knowledge of Psychological First Aid and/or Trauma Informed Interview Techniques
- At least 1 years' work experience as a Caseworker in humanitarian/recovery preferably in Iran or Afghanistan.
- Good knowledge of written and spoken English
- Good computer skills in Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Kobo.
Context related skills, knowledge and experience:
- Excellent understanding of case management principles and processes
- Knowledge of service mapping and referrals
- Previous experience in protection-related activities is highly desirable
- Ability to work in a multicultural organization with members from diverse cultures and backgrounds

Contract: 3 month probation with possibility of extension (Extendable to maximum 9 months)
Salary: based on NRC grade structure- This position is grade 4 of the organizational grading and structure
Duty Station: Iran-Tehran (Flexibale Based on Candidates’ Location) with field visit (30%) to the provinces where NRC is operating
