Functional Responsibilities

Under the direct supervision of the Project Manager and the Project Management Support Senior Officer, the Trainee role is to support the activities aimed at increasing project management capacity. Among the tasks assigned to the Trainee: 

  • Research and analyze information on projects and partners;
  • Support the Project Team with monitoring and updating project and procurement plans, coordinating the quarterly and monthly assurance tasks, as well as improving the project management compliance;
  • Assist the Project Team with project implementation, preparing project management documents and communication materials;
  • Support the Project Team in providing routine oversight and analysis of projects’ financial and procurement data within the available dashboards, working on oneUNOPS and internal monitoring tools available; 
  • Provide support in the preparation of narrative and financial reports;
  • Provide help in the daily communication with projects’ stakeholders and all parties involved;
  • Assist in coordinating knowledge-sharing sessions, as required, to prepare learning materials, presentation slides etc;  
  • Perform admin & secretarial duties by taking meeting minutes during project management meetings; 
  • Support the preparation of briefing materials ahead of meetings between UNOPS and partners;
  • Performing other duties when required.

Education/Experience/Language requirements

Education: 
  • Minimum First level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) is required, preferably in International Affairs, Social Sciences, Human Resources, Business Administration, Project Management, Engineering background, Computer Science, or other relevant fields. 

  • Must be enrolled in a university programme such as Master's or Ph.D. (or the equivalent) or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the application date of the internship.

  • Prior project management certification is highly desirable.

Experience:

  • Some professional experience in the field of International Development, Project Management, Administration, Procurement, Operations, Human Resources, or any other relevant field is desirable.
  • Strong computer literacy in Google standard programs, particularly proficiency in using G-Doc, G-sheet, G-slides, G-module, or similar tools such as Canva is desirable.
  • Ability to work in an international/multicultural environment
Language: 
  • Full working knowledge (Fluency) in English (reading, writing, and speaking) is required.
  • Any knowledge of Bahasa Indonesia is an asset
