Background
Under the overall guidance and supervision of the UNCTADs Project manager in Angola, the IT Systems Associate will provide technical support services to Angolan Customs.
The IT Systems Associate should promote a client-oriented approach.

Duties and Responsibilities
1. Assisting in the IT Systems programming, focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Be part of a team responsible for building and deploying software in a standardized manner.
- Help ensure that processes, services, business rules, and the repository are aligned with best practices and client standards concerning performance and governance.
- Test and implement applications and integration components that support the Customs operating environment and its processing.
2. Ensures provision of technical support, focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Provide technical assistance and support in the prototyping, testing, piloting, rollout, administration, and maintenance of all ASY5 system e-Documents, including necessary remedial actions.
- Assist in preparing instruction sheets to guide end-users during testing and production runs.
- Support other UNCTAD experts and the National Project Team.
3. Support the IT systems debugging, focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Perform basic technical developments and system configuration requirements.
- Develop basic software around the ASY5 system.
- Participate in the maintenance of ASY5 system in all offices.
4. Support the IT systems documenting, focusing on achievement of the following results:
- Collaborate in maintaining and preparing technical documentation related to software development, bug fixes, and any other pertinent documentation.

Required Skills and Experience
Education:
- Secondary Education with specialization in information technology or related field. University Degree in Computer Science, information technology or related field is desirable , but it is not requirement.
Experience:

Must possess at least 1 year of experience in the field of IT with a Bachelor’s degree, or 3 years of experience with a secondary education. Experience could include areas such as:
- OS Administration
- RDBMS Administration and Programming
- System Analysis and Design
- Programming
- Web Services
- Installation and System Upgrades
- Some experience in designing and developing RESTful APIs for a microservices architecture using Java, with frameworks such as Quarkus and Spring Boot, is mandatory
