Functional Responsibilities
The Communication Intern will assist the Communication Specialist in managing the office's communications tasks, including social media management, website updates, internal communications, and event organization. The position offers the intern a hands-on experience in a global organization’s communications department, contributing to internal and external communications initiatives.
Under the supervision of the Communication Specialist, the intern will assist with the following tasks:
Social Media and Digital Communications-
Support the management of the office’s social media accounts (e.g., LinkedIn, Twitter, Facebook, Instagram).

Assist in creating and curating content for social media platforms, including graphics, posts, and videos.

Assist in maintaining and updating the UNOPS Austria website, ensuring that content is current, accurate, and engaging.

Gather updates from AUMCO projects for inclusion in the quarterly UNOPS newsletter and assist with drafting and editing the news items.

Support the Communication Specialist in the development of content for internal platforms to ensure staff are informed about key updates, events, and activities.

Support the organization and logistics of events, both in-person and virtual, including conferences, webinars, and meetings.

Assist in preparing event materials, invitations, and promotional content.

Help with coordination on the day of events, including registration, technical support, etc.
Education/Experience/Language requirements

The applicant should have completed a Minimum First level university degree (Bachelor’s or equivalent) , or be enrolled in a postgraduate program or have graduated from such studies within three (3) years prior to the start date of the intern assignment.

Area of study should preferably relate to Communications, Journalism, Public Relations or similar is required.
