UNDP in Sri Lanka’s Flagship Portfolio on SDG16 – Peace, Justice and Strong Institutions provides an integrated framework of support on Inclusive Governance. It innerves across four over-arching strategic pillars;

With the funding support of the Government of Japan, namely the Japanese Supplementary Budget Project, UNDP is implementing the project titled “Promoting Economic Governance Through Anti- Corruption Policy Support.” The intervention focused on strengthening the anti-corruption ecosystem in Sri Lanka, through time-bound, costed national policy reform, inter-stakeholder collaboration, and enhanced institutional capacity to deliver a necessary roadmap for the country to emerge from fragility towards a resilient economy and a trusted democracy. UNDP’s engagement in the subject also extends to strengthening transparency and accountability of institutions including institutional support to implement selected findings of the IMF governance diagnostic recommendations. With the funding support of the Asian Development Bank (ADB), UNDP is implementing the project titled “Support to Selected Anti-Corruption Initiatives.” Under this project, the UNDP in Sri Lanka will support CIABOC to develop a phased-out E-Asset Declaration System which was conceptualized with local and international expertise. In this context, the National UN Youth Volunteer, guided by the Project Analyst-Anti Corruption, Inclusive Governance Team (IGT), is required to support the coordination and administrative activities of the project.

Task description
Under the direct supervision of the Project Analyst, Anti-Corruption, the National UN Youth Volunteer will:
• Provide coordination support among stakeholders involved in the Anti-Corruption initiatives
implemented by the UNDP Country Office (CO), including UNDP team, other UN agencies
and development partners, government agencies and other related stakeholders;
• Assist in preparing materials for workshop and outreach activities related to Anti-Corruption
initiatives;
• Organize meetings, workshops, and public events, including venue arrangements,
participant coordination, and logistical support;
• Attend and document meetings, preparing minutes and action points for follow-up with relevant stakeholders;
• Support the compilation and organization of reports, summaries, and other
documentation;
• Undertake other relevant tasks as required by the supervisor to support the Inclusive
Governance team.
Furthermore, UN Volunteers are encouraged to integrate the UN Volunteers programme mandate within their assignment and promote voluntary action through engagement with communities in the course of their work. As such, UN Volunteers should dedicate a part of their working time to some of the following suggested activities:
• Strengthen their knowledge and understanding of the concept of volunteerism by reading relevant UNV and external publications and take active part in UNV activities (for instance in events that mark International Volunteer Day);
• Be acquainted with and build on traditional and/or local forms of volunteerism in the host country;
• Provide annual and end of assignment self-reports on UN Volunteer actions, results and
opportunities.
• Contribute articles/write-ups on field experiences and submit them for UNV publications/websites,
newsletters, press releases, etc.;
• Assist with the UNV Buddy Programme for newly-arrived UN Volunteers;
• Promote or advise local groups in the use of online volunteering or encourage relevant local
individuals and organizations to use the UNV Online Volunteering service whenever technically possible.
