The UN Volunteer will provide analytical research on partner activities in Djibouti to establish linkages with potential projects and maintain an informational database. The UN Volunteer will contribute to project design and implementation, participate in meetings with government agencies and development partners. Additionally, s/he will assist with portfolio monitoring, analyse operational data, provide regular reports, identify issues, and support the review of analytical pieces related to Djibouti.

Under the direct supervision of the Resident Representative, the UN Volunteer will undertake the following tasks:

Carry out research on activities led by partners in Djibouti in order to forge linkages and potential projects in partnership with others multilateral/bilateral partners by maintaining an informational database in order to assist the Resident Representative with strengthening relationships with other international stakeholders.

Contribute to specific operational activities at all stages of the project design and implementation, including participation in the development of concept notes, reflecting actions led by other partners in Djibouti

Participate in meetings with government agencies and development partners, and maintaining records of meetings to help with drafting of correspondence; and

Work closely with the Resident Representative on portfolio monitoring, analyzing operational data and providing regular and ad hoc reports in order to make linkages to management on the status of the country program; identifies issues and raises concerns with regard to the overall portfolio quality, as needed;

Supports the RR in reviews of analytical pieces seeking to provide comments for improvement of such works, in relation to Djibouti

Other responsibilities, as needed.
