The position is to be filled as soon as possible with a contract duration until December 31, 2025 due to a sick leave cover. There is a potential for contract extension. Employment location will be Bonn or Berlin, Germany. 

We are the fairly new Data Analytics & AI (D&A) team. In collaboration with colleagues from all areas of our organization, we develop solutions and approaches in the large cosmos of advanced analytics. Our strategic focus is on data-based learning.

As Data Process Architect you can play an active role in building an organization-wide cloud data warehouse and analytics platform and gain fascinating insights from our data. You will be part of a dedicated, innovative team that drives data-driven decisions and always keeps the well-being of our organization in mind.

Our challenges as an NGO are special: your stakeholders may be part of the donor service in Bonn or project managers in our 37 project countries. On the ground, hurdles such as power cuts or a lack of internet connections can make data collection difficult. It's not always easy, but it is challenging. Are you up for it? Your responsibilities

Are you passionate about shaping the future of data? We're looking for bright minds to design and optimize cutting-edge data architectures. Here’s what you’ll be working on:

• Develop lean and efficient target processes by leveraging industry standards and best practices.
• Take ownership of designing and implementing scalable data architectures that meet business needs.
• Create optimized data models to ensure well-structured, high-performance databases.
• Integrate multiple data sources seamlessly while maintaining consistency and accuracy.
• Keep databases running smoothly by monitoring performance and optimizing queries.
• Safeguard data integrity by implementing security measures and ensuring compliance with privacy regulations.
• Work closely with Data Scientists, Analysts, and other teams to align the architecture with business goals.
• You guide colleagues from the department, set standards for the use of our products and solutions and, like everyone in the team, are a data ambassador for the organization
• You are also willing to pass on your experience to colleagues and specialist departments

Your profile

• You have a university or College degree, ideally in (business) informatics, data science, (business) mathematics, software engineering or a comparable field of study
• You convince us with your personality: your passion for the topic of data analysis paired with your will to move the organization forward together with us
• You enjoy working in a team, take responsibility for your own tasks and express your opinion
• Thanks to your quick comprehension and strong analytical thinking, you are also willing to take on new tasks
• You are service-oriented, proactive and communicative, have high quality standards, but do not lose sight of your goal and work analytically and quickly with fun on creative solutions
• You have very good knowledge of the Azure Tool Stack and in addition first experiences with MS Fabric
• If you have already gained experience in the design and implementation of various interfaces (including REST APIs), that would be a plus
• You already have knowledge of data modeling of analytical databases (dimensional modeling, data vault)
• You have advanced knowledge of common architectures and processes in data processing (e.g. ETL / ELT)
• You are fluent in German and  English, as Welthungerhilfe works in almost 40 countries
