Job Purpose
Serves as the Focal Point in the Bank for the Non-Member Countries by coordinating and maintaining relationship with Representatives of Muslim communities and officials of governments/Embassies, overseas delegations and private-sector counterparts visiting the IsDBG Headquarter; undertake research on wide range of areas such as critical issues affecting communities in non-member countries; contribute to the non-member country strategies and programs, prepare reports on development interventions, and coordinate the bank’ portfolio for non-member countries. Prepare report on the status of the implementation of development programs in the non-member countries and periodic reviews on development priorities, areas of investments, potential projects and programs based on the communities' priorities and the Bank’s strategy.
Key Accountabilities
Strategy & Planning:
Undertake research on a wide range of areas such as critical issues affecting communities in non-member countries.
Contribute and coordinate the development of Non-Member Country Strategy.
Coordinate feasibility of potential projects in consultation with relevant specialists in Regional Hubs or in HQ and contribute to preparation of 3Y Rolling Work Program.
Prepare report on the implementation of the 3Y Rolling Work Program and Communities Outreach Strategy.
Facilitate preparation and coordinate implementation of IsDB Group operations in the Non-Member Countries.
Coordinate the planning of the budget and the IsDB missions to Non-Member Countries and facilitate official visits/missions to the Bank.
Country Operations & Portfolio Management:
Coordinate the internal and external consultation process during the development of the Communities Outreach strategies and assistance envelope for the non-member countries
Facilitate dialogue with communities and governments in the non-member country on bank’s assistance, products, and network of partners.
Coordinate and prepare the Country project and technical assistance pipeline and 3Y Rolling Work Program based on the approved country strategy/Roadman of collaboration with Muslim communities.
Coordinate the preparation and appraisal of projects based on 3Y Rolling Work Program.
Coordinate signing and effectiveness of projects and technical assistance approved by the bank.
Coordinate reports on implementation assessment of the country program activities and facilitate the Evaluation of the projects in non-member countries.
Knowledge Sharing, Partnerships & Innovation:
Prepare and update Country profiles, Briefs Fact Sheets and IsDBG portfolio in non-member countries.
Interact with relevant departments across Complexes and Entities to share and exchange country information.
Identifies financial and technical partners and develops effective collaboration mechanisms with them for the benefit of Muslim communities.
Forge relationships with other development partners active in Non-Member Countries for JCO-financing.
Provide trend analysis by country/region, mode of financing, sectors and themes.
Share periodical reports on Non-Member Countries, including fact sheets, country briefs, status of IsDB operations, country portfolio performance, etc.
Support the decision-making process in the Bank by providing country specific information and knowledge.
Enhance IsDB networking with Non-Member Countries and other key stakeholders.
Prepare periodical and ad-hoc reports as assigned.
Academic and professional qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Economics, Engineering, Development Studies, Business Studies or related field.
Minimum 8 years of experience in the Multi-Lateral Development Sector.
