The emergency response, coordinated by the Humanitarian Aid Unit, is composed by multi-sectorial interventions comprising of WASH, EiE, CVA, Food Security, Protection, and others. We operate also in protracted crisis with provision of humanitarian aid through a prevention, emergency relief and rehabilitation approach.In the last 4 years we have strengthened the regions and the countries where we have been working, we have created new programs, developed new quality and compliance systems and now we need new people who want to join us to build the world we want in the coming years. ROVING PROFILES

WeWorld is searching for Programmes Roving profiles with strong experience in the field.

Short-listed candidates will be contacted for an interview. The selected candidates will receive an induction and training on WeWorld manuals, tools and procedures.

The selected candidates will be required to be available for short-term or mid-term (max 3 months) field missions and occasionally remote support.The selected candidate will be required to cover roles as Head of Programmes, Senior Project Manager, Emergency Coordinator, or similar roles.


MAIN FUNCTIONS AND DUTIES

Programme Management and Quality Management

· Ensure leadership and program quality by overseeing and guiding the Project Managers and Programme Advisors

· Ensure that all programmes are implemented in coherence with the WeWorld strategy and country context, and that contingency plans and corrective measures are applied whenever needed

· Coordinate with Finance Manager and Country Representative, to ensure satisfactory management of project budgets for projects within country portfolio

· Supervise high quality compiling and timely submission of all internal and external reports, briefing notes, and other reporting products


Project Coordination and Implementation

· Coordinate rapid assessments ensuring the strategic integrated overview and the appropriate integration of support (logistics, financial and HR) needs

· Support the development of donors proposal in existing or emergency sectors in close link with relevant departments at field level and in HQ in order to secure and develop the program operational scope

· Support the development of operational and technical tools & frameworks in strong link with technical resources

· Monitor and supervise planning of projects activities, ensuring effective delivery in line with all donors’ regulations, country legislation and professional standards


Strategic Direction

· Collaborate with the Country Representative to develop long-term strategic vision and planning to achieve significant impact through high quality programme strategy and related processes

· Identify funding opportunities, initiate and oversee data collection initiatives, and develop competitive, responsive proposals in collaboration with the Country Representative, HQ coordinators and program teams.

Requirements

ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS

Qualifications and Knowledge

· Advanced university degree or equivalent in the field of Social or Political Science, Development Studies, Economics, International relations, Project Management, Human Rights.

· Knowledge of main donors’ policies and procedures (EU, ECHO, UN Agencies, Italian Cooperation)

· Good computer skills, in particular MS Office package

· Fluent in English both written and verbal


Professional experience

· At least 5 years of relevant working experience in humanitarian or development settings

· Working experience with international NGOs in management of international cooperation projects funded by institutional and private donors

· Proven experience in Project Cycle Management

· Proven experience in project proposal writing.


Skills and Abilities

· Strong interpersonal relationships and good communication and leadership skills

· Ability to perform under stress conditions

· Capacity to work autonomously and in problem prevention/resolution

· Proven organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple tasks while fostering quality, team spirit and positive working relationships with colleagues

· Integrity in line with the Humanitarian Principles and ethical standards

· Cultural, gender, religion, and age sensitivity and adaptability


DESIRABLE REQUIREMENTS

· Fluent in Italian/ French/ Portuguese/ Spanish

· Previous work experience in similar roving positions

Other information

WHAT WE OFFER

Type of contract: agreement of 12 months with a minimum availability of 4 months for short-term or mid-term (max 3 months) field missions and occasionally remote support.

Economic conditions:3.490€ gross/month (salary base) + Contributions according to the security risk level of the mission.

Other conditions: Travels, accommodation and health insurance covered
