About this position

We are looking for a professional with strong experience in audit, risk management, process reengineering and data analytics to work as an Oversight, Audit and Compliance Senior Associate in the Office of the Executive Auditor (AUG). 

AUG is an independent assurance and advisory services provider guided by international standards. AUG reports to the President and to the Board of Executive Directors through its Audit Committee. AUG is committed to influence the strengthening of governance, risk management, and control processes that help the IDB Group accomplish its objectives. What you’ll do:

  • Conduct data-driven, integrated audit and advisory services associated with IDB Group governance, risk management, and internal controls.
  • Contribute to the development of innovative tools, agile methodologies, and internal audit approaches.
  • Develop data analytics and support data collection using modern technologies.
  • Contribute to the preparation of dynamic, multidimensional risk assessments and multiyear audit plans for IDB, IDB Invest, or IDB Lab
  • Assess IDB Group's processes to identify key risks and controls, including application, information technology, and data quality controls, while aligning with strategic priorities.
  • Conduct interviews and process walkthroughs, and create flowcharts to document AUG's understanding of business processes, related information systems, and generated data.
  • Perform risk and control assessments and prepare risk-based audit work programs for the assigned engagements.
  • Provide insights and compelling evidence to support audit conclusions and maintain high quality working papers.
  • Draft clear, concise, and timely audit reports and presentations, incorporating visual elements to engage and maintain the reader's attention.
  • Present and communicate results of work performed to Management.
  • Follow up on the implementation of Management Action Plans resulting from audits.
  • Support the implementation of AUG's five-year strategic business plan.
  • Share knowledge and provide training to AUG and the different units within the IDB Group on governance, risk management and internal controls.

 

What you’ll need

  • Education: Master’s degree in business administration, Finance, Management Information Systems or other fields relevant to the responsibilities of the role. Certified Internal Auditor (CIA), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA) and/or Certified Public Accountant (CPA) may be considered in lieu of a master’s degree.

 

Experience:

  • At least five (5) years of progressive experience in internal audit, risk management, or relevant business areas within international financial institutions, or in external audit and/or consulting, ideally with a major international accounting and professional services firm.
  • Experience utilizing data analytics, continuous auditing, artificial intelligence, or similar techniques to enhance internal auditing, present results, and draw insights to support engagement with supervision and guidance.
  • Experience in integrated audits covering business process, technology and data.
  • Experience in first- or second-line risk management type functions in addition to audit experience will be a plus.

 

Languages:

Proficiency in English and one of the other Bank official languages (Spanish, French or Portuguese) is required.

Contract Type

  • Staff: International: International staff contract, 36 months initially, renewable upon mutual agreement.
