SCOPE OF WORK: The IRC is seeking a multifaceted Finance Intern to assist the Finance Manager with payment processing, vendor management, data entry, and Federal Match tracking. This position will be based in the Dallas, TX office for at least 15 hours per week during the summer. 

RESPONSIBILITIES: 
Handle sensitive client information confidentially. 
Assist Finance Manager in entry and completion of staff time and effort reporting. 
Assist Finance Manager as required with AP/AR processing. 
Assist with month-end close. 
Support the tracking and reporting of Federal Match requirements, including documentation of eligible match contributions. 
Ensure compliance with grant regulations related to federal matching funds. 
Collaborate with Finance and program teams to gather, verify, and record in-kind contributions and volunteer hours applicable to match obligations. 

LEARNING OBJECTIVES: 
Intern will gain experience using an ERP financial accounting system. 
Intern will learn how to effectively manage multiple workflows across Finance & Operations teams. 
Intern will receive hands-on experience with high-importance items and deliverables. 
Intern will develop an understanding of federal grant compliance and match tracking requirements. 
Intern will have direct communication with both Finance and program staff and work in a collaborative environment. 

Minimum Qualifications:

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: 
Applicants should be: 
Undergraduate students or graduate students earning degrees in Business, Finance, Economics, and/or Accounting. 
Attention to detail, the ability to multi-task, and excellent communication skills are all essential to this position. 

REQUIREMENTS: 
Ability to handle sensitive client information confidentially. 
Comfort with Microsoft Office products and basic accounting practices, and willingness to learn to use new software for data entry.
