Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Supply and Logistics, and in close collaboration with supply and logistics operations in Gaza, this role supports the monitoring of performance measurements and management results within the UNICEF supply chain.

The fundamental mission of UNICEF is to promote the rights of every child, everywhere, in everything the organization does — in programs, in advocacy and in operations. The equity strategy, emphasizing the most disadvantaged and excluded children and families, translates this commitment to children’s rights into action. For UNICEF, equity means that all children have an opportunity to survive, develop and reach their full potential, without discrimination, bias or favoritism. To the degree that any child has an unequal chance in life — in its social, political, economic, civic and cultural dimensions — her or his rights are violated. There is growing evidence that investing in the health, education and protection of a society’s most disadvantaged citizens — addressing inequity — not only will give all children the opportunity to fulfill their potential but also will lead to sustained growth and stability of countries. This is why the focus on equity is so vital. It accelerates progress towards realizing the human rights of all children, which is the universal mandate of UNICEF, as outlined by the Convention on the Rights of the Child, while also supporting the equitable development of nations.

Job organizational context: UNICEF in the State of Palestine works to uphold the rights of children to access services and protection, from early childhood through to adolescence. Our objective is to ensure that every child in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including East Jerusalem, irrespective of background or circumstance, has an equal chance to fulfil their potential. UNICEF aim to significantly increase mobilization of supplies, which requires a rapid scale-up in logistics operations on the ground. A robust information management system will be essential to enhance control and visibility over supply and logistics operations.

Under the direct supervision of the Chief of Supply and Logistics, and in close collaboration with supply and logistics operations in Gaza, this role supports the monitoring of performance measurements and management results within the UNICEF supply chain. This includes ensuring accurate and cohesive methodologies and calculations, actively monitoring key supply chain segments, and contributing to the provision of required statutory reports and statistics. The role also ensures data accuracy for supply and logistics results through the coordination of inputs, validation of information, and the use of consistent and documented working approaches and tools.

  • Availability of relevant reports through provision of information and analysis based on supply chain data by working with relevant team members and/or generating the information and analysis via available tools and data sources, such as UNICEF’s ERP.
  • Maintain the SoP Supply Plan, ensuring its accurate reflection on the SoP emergency dashboard. Facilitating the generation of effective key messages and summaries.
  • Any other duty might be required by the supervisor.

UNICEF’s Core Values of Care, Respect, Integrity, Trust and Accountability and Sustainability (CRITAS) underpin everything we do and how we do it.
