Job Description

Responsibilities

•   Develop and maintain an effective capacity-building plan in coordination with site-level focal points in each camp.
•  Conduct assessments at the site level to identify capacity development needs, emergency preparedness and response priorities, and disability inclusion initiatives.
•  Regularly update the capacity-building calendar and tracker, ensuring the collection and analysis of sex- and age-disaggregated data while upholding data protection and confidentiality principles.
•  Ensure the timely mobilization and participation of all training participants, prioritizing continuity of field operations through close coordination with relevant supervisors.
•   Contribute substantially to training initiatives aimed at strengthening the capacity of national authorities to manage camps and camp-like settings, including training for the Refugee Relief and Repatriation Commissioner (RRRC), Camp-in-Charge (CiC) Officers, and Police/Military Officers.
•  Plan and implement capacity development programs for staff and volunteers in the field, equipping them with the necessary skills to perform their roles effectively.
•  Develop, maintain and update a capacity-building plan tracker for all initiatives implemented under the IOM SMSD capacity-building unit.
•   Contribute to emergency preparedness and response actions in the field by planning, developing, and organizing cyclone orientations, simulations, monsoon drills, and fire drills ahead of cyclones and heavy rains.
•  Support the implementation of disability inclusion initiatives, ensuring the organization of monthly DISC meetings, dissemination of disability inclusion messages, and targeted training for staff and volunteers, with proper reporting in SMS activity Kobo tools.
•  Strengthen coordination and information exchange with national and local authorities, state institutions, civil society organizations, and other relevant stakeholders within capacity-sharing initiatives.
•  Promote community participation by enhancing their capacity to engage in decision-making processes, including supporting women’s committees in women’s participation projects.
•  Contribute to the development of IOM capacity-building modules for staff and volunteers, adapting them based on post-monitoring gap analysis feedback and evolving needs.
•  Ensure accurate reporting of activities, compliance with donor reporting requirements, and proper documentation for accountability in resource utilization.
•  Perform any other assigned tasks as required.

 

 

Qualifications

EDUCATION
Completed university degree from an accredited academic institution, preferably in International Relations, Political Science, Business or Public Administration, or a related field with two years of relevant professional experience, or
Master’s degree in the above mentioned fields.

EXPERIENCE
Practical experience with international organizations, in development, implementation and evaluation, and/or programme implementation and management. 
Experience in Camp Coordination and Camp Management, relocation, cash for work, ES/NFI, and project management. 
Familiarity with different project cycle steps and donor relations. 
Ability to supervise large numbers of staff
Previous experience working in Bangladesh or Rohingya population.
