IRC Italia is implementing WISE, a new European-funded project integrating MHPSS and employment support components across four locations in Italy and Bulgaria.
The project pairs a trauma and gender-sensitive approach, mental health and psychosocial support (MHPSS) with employment services enabled by technology driven solutions to create a holistic support system for employable refugee women from Ukraine in Italy and Bulgaria. This project aims to enhance Ukrainian women’s employability, skills-job match, lifelong learning, access and integration in the host-country the labor market, while improving their ability to navigate social and public services, as well as their mental and psychosocial well-being.
Job Overview
The integration case worker will be based in Turin and support IRC Italy integration and economic empowerment programming, by contributing to the implementation of the WISE project. Under the Economic Wellbeing Manager’s supervision and in collaboration with the cultural mediator(s), local partners and external stakeholders, the integration case worker will enhance beneficiaries’ psycho-social well-being, socio-economic integration, and financial self-sufficiency through case-management services and empowerment group activities, including comprehensive needs assessments, orientation and referrals to existing services, employment preparation, job readiness training, (post)placement support, and un/structured group psychosocial support activities.
Specific Duties and Responsibilities:
•Conduct field outreach activities (meetings and presentations, face-to-face contact, distribution of printed and digital materials) with prospective beneficiaries in locations with high presence of target population;
•Conduct comprehensive assessments of individuals’ needs, weaknesses and strengths as well as of beneficiaries’ employability level and develop integration plans accordingly;
•Use and adapt AI-based tool for matching beneficiaries’ skills and competences with local labor market needs and employment and training opportunities, to provide employment support and career orientation;
•Identify appropriate vocational training and employment opportunities to each beneficiary and guide them through the hiring/enrollment process to access these opportunities.
•Develop, organize and conduct un/structured group psycho-social activities to improve target populations’ empowerment and wellbeing;
•Conduct group and one-on-one job readiness training activities, such as cultural and workplace orientation, job search and job application, mock interviews, creation of CVs and cover letters, and job skills development sessions.
•Develop and/or update the existing mapping of relevant local services regularly;
•Liaise with, and make referrals and/or signpost to local services and other agencies (including by accompanying them if necessary to relevant services) and conduct follow ups to assess progress;
•Support the organization of online and in-person meetings and workshops with stakeholders, including policy-makers;
•Participate in multidisciplinary teams, case conferences, working groups, ad hoc workshops and thematic trainings and team meetings as required;
•Ensure compliance with all reporting requirements, including secured database management and timely case-noting of delivered services.
•Other duties as assigned by the supervisor to enable and develop IRC programs.

Working Environment
•This position is based in Turin
• A combination of standard office environment, remote work, and ‘field’ time within the service delivery area to perform the above outlined responsibilities.
•May require occasional weekend and/or evening work.
Requirements:
● Undergraduate degree in social work, social science, psychology, education, economics, law or a related field of study;
●Minimum of 2 years of relevant work experience in case management, job counselling, or job search process and demonstrated ability to effectively coach clients through the nuanced process of securing employment and access local services;
●Experience and demonstrated understanding of working with a refugee or migrant population;
●Demonstrated knowledge of the Italian labor market and relevant services, including public employment and vocational training schemes;
●Understanding of protection, mental health and psycho-social issues;
●Proven success achieving goals, meeting deadlines and working effectively with all levels of staff in a fast-paced, multi-cultural environment;
●Fluency in English and Italian both spoken and written, knowledge of Ukrainian and/or Russian is an asset;
●Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook) and online databases.
●Experience working with international development or EU-funded programs is an asset.
