Description
The Global Environment Facility (GEF) Communications & Outreach unit is seeking to hire an energetic and tech-savvy Social Media Producer ETT to support the unit’s ambitious Social Media & Marketing program.
The core requirements for this position include a solid understanding of current global environmental issues, the industry’s main players and influential; practical knowledge of a variety of content management systems (Hootsuite, Trello) and visual content creation platforms (Adobe products, Canva). The ability to work under pressure against competing deadlines is a must. Working knowledge of Spanish and/or French is highly desirable.
Preference will be given to candidates with proven digital data analytics, visualization and reporting skills, and experience with social listening platforms.
Duties and Accountabilities
The incumbent will assist GEFCO colleagues in strategic online content development and dissemination using state of the art technology solutions to maximize outreach and impact. This includes, but is not limited to, managing daily activities on the GEF social media channels, monitoring, analyzing and reporting on social media content performance, editing GEF website pages, providing website analytics support, providing support to external events, producing the monthly newsletter and other external email marketing campaigns.
Specific Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the GEF’s Digital Marketing Lead, the Social Media Producer ETT will:
• Write and publish social media posts and assist with daily management of GEF’s social media accounts.
• Build the social media ‘library’ and schedule posts using the GEF’s content management systems.
• Maintain the team’s content and special events calendar.
• Research and propose ideas on production of immersive stories, infographics, social media video explainers, social cards, Instagram stories, and other high-impact digital content.
• Keep up with recent trends in social media technology and global environment advocacy.
• Prepare social media campaign packages for distribution via Trello, Google Drive, and other means.
• Assist in preparation of social media & marketing reports.
The Social Media Producer ETT will support, as required, the GEF Digital team in the production of other program deliverables including:
• Posting videos on the GEF YouTube channel
• Managing the photo and video repository
• Posting content on the GEF website and other digital content platforms
• Supporting production of email-marketing campaigns including the GEFCO’s flagship monthly newsletter.
