Hiring Unit Description

MIGA Finance and Risk (MIGFR) department are seeking an Business Systems Officer with strong technical background and substantial experience in developing business solutions leveraging emerging technology trends and industry best practices. This position will be responsible for providing technical expertise, applying broad technical skills, deep industry knowledge and business acumen, including designing and developing technical solutions that support business strategy on digital transformation, optimization, and cloud adoption. With a strong blend of technical and communication skills, the candidate will coordinate with key stakeholders from WBG ITS Teams, business teams and/or third-party vendors to build various web/mobile applications and portal solutions.

The position will be responsible for coordinating the day-to-day activities between the Washington, DC team and the offshore team in Chennai, supporting multiple applications using a variety of technologies, platforms, and seamlessly working across various application systems. 

Duties & Responsibilities:
 
The Candidate will be primarily responsible for (1) the solution and architecture design new solutions and systems across technology stacks; (2) maintain and support enhancements and upgrades across all current solutions and systems; (3) optimize the use of technology solutions and manage technical teams to deliver on tasks (1) and (2) above.

The individual will act as a technical subjective matter expert (SME) for the various solutions being built or supported by the MIGFR unit, across different technology stacks. The individual will be responsible to design and implement scalable, secure, and cost-effective Azure-based solutions that align with the organization's business objectives. 

Key responsibilities:

• Solution Design and Architecture: 

o Design and document end-to-end Azure solutions, including infrastructure, applications, and data.
o Develop architectural blueprints, diagrams, and specifications.
o Evaluate and recommend Azure services and technologies based on business requirements.
o Ensure solutions adhere to industry best practices, security standards, and compliance regulations.
o Design for high availability, disaster recovery, and scalability.
o Design solutions that utilize IaaS, PaaS, and SaaS Azure offerings.
• Cloud Infrastructure and Deployment: 
o Define and implement infrastructure-as-code (IaC) using tools like Azure Resource Manager (ARM) templates or terraform.
o Automate cloud deployments and configurations.
o Oversee the migration of on-premises workloads to Azure.
o Optimize Azure infrastructure for performance and cost efficiency.
o Implement and manage CI/CD pipelines.

• Security and Compliance: 

o Design and implement security controls for Azure environments.
o Ensure compliance with relevant industry standards and regulations (e.g., GDPR, HIPAA, PCI DSS).
o Conduct security assessments and vulnerability analyses.
o Implement identity and access management (IAM) solutions.

• Collaboration and Communication: 

o Collaborate with stakeholders, including developers, engineers, project managers, and business analysts.
o Communicate technical concepts and solutions to non-technical audiences.
o Provide technical guidance and mentorship to team members.
o Participate in architectural reviews and design discussions.

• Technical Leadership and Innovation: 

o Stay up to date with the latest Azure technologies and trends.
o Evaluate and recommend new technologies to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
o Drive innovation and continuous improvement in cloud solutions.
o Create and maintain architectural documentation.

• Cost Optimization: 

o Design and implement cost optimization strategies for Azure environments.
o Monitor and analyze Azure spending and provide recommendations for cost reduction.
o Utilize Azure cost management tools.
