POSITION SUMMARY

The Knowledge and Analytics Officer will play a central role in generating high-quality knowledge products and managing knowledge flows under the KOICA-funded project “Enhancing Net-Zero Readiness of Viet Nam through Mobilizing Investments for Climate-Tech Start-ups and SMEs” (“the Project”). The Officer will also contribute to the broader knowledge agenda of the GGGI Viet Nam Country Program by conducting research, supporting the design and delivery of knowledge outputs, and managing data, tools, and insights relevant to green growth, AI innovation, and climate tech. The role also supports strategic partnerships and stakeholder engagement, with a focus on enabling collaboration that enriches GGGI’s knowledge work. This person will serve as the main focal point for coordinating with universities and research institutions in Viet Nam.

 

PURPOSE

The Officer will be responsible for:

  • Leading the development and implementation of a knowledge and analytics strategy for the Project and the country program
  • Designing and producing rigorous, policy-relevant knowledge products
  • Facilitating knowledge exchange, research, and dissemination
  • Supporting stakeholder engagement and partnerships that contribute to evidence generation and learning

 

ENGAGEMENT
  • Collaborate closely with the Country Representative, Project Manager, technical specialists, and HQ teams, as necessary
  • Coordinate with program staff to align analytics and knowledge outputs with program performance
  • Engage with partners in government, development agencies, academia, and the private sector to co-develop and disseminate knowledge

 

DELIVERY

 1. Knowledge and Analytics Strategy

  • Lead the design and implementation of a targeted knowledge and analytics plan that aligns with project objectives and country program priorities
  • Assess effectiveness of current knowledge products and identify areas for improvement
  • Establish and manage internal processes for knowledge curation, packaging, and dissemination

 

2. Knowledge Production and Research

  • Coordinate and lead research activities, ensuring methodological rigor and alignment with project and institutional goals
  • Oversee the development of reports, briefs, case studies, and other knowledge products that translate project results into actionable insights
  • Manage data collection, analysis, and visualization to support both internal decision-making and external communication

 

3. Knowledge Sharing and Learning

  • Design and implement knowledge dissemination strategies using diverse platforms (events, webinars, digital channels, etc.)
  • Organize and facilitate learning exchanges, dialogues, and thematic discussions with internal and external stakeholders
  • Ensure knowledge is accessible, up-to-date, and strategically aligned with stakeholder needs

 

4. Strategic Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagement

  • Identify and engage with key partners—including government counterparts, universities, research institutes, think tanks, and private sector actors—who contribute to or benefit from GGGI’s knowledge products
  • Serve as the main focal point for coordinating with universities and research institutions in Viet Nam, facilitating joint research, knowledge co-creation, and partnership development
  • Build and maintain institutional relationships with universities and research organizations in Viet Nam to foster joint knowledge development, research collaboration, and innovation partnerships
  • Facilitate collaboration and information sharing among stakeholders in the climate tech ecosystem
  • Support outreach activities and targeted communications to amplify knowledge products and build visibility of GGGI’s work

 

5. Project and Operational Support

  • Contribute to internal and donor reporting and ad-hoc research tasks as required

                                                                                

REQUIREMENTS
QUALIFICATIONS
  • Postgraduate degree in sustainable development, environmental science, economics, development studies, any sectoral disciplines related to green growth, or a related field
  • At least 8 years of relevant professional experience in research, knowledge production, policy analysis, and/or strategic communications, preferably within green growth or climate-related sectors
  • Proven track record in producing high-quality, policy-relevant knowledge products (e.g., reports, policy briefs, toolkits)
  • Experience working with international development partners, government institutions, multilateral development banks, academia, and/or research institutions
  • Familiarity with donor-funded project implementation and reporting requirements
  • Excellent writing, editing, and presentation skills in both English and Vietnamese
  • Proficiency in digital tools for data analysis, visualization, and knowledge management is an advantage

 

FUNCTIONAL
  • Proven experience in green growth-related knowledge development, management, and dissemination
  • Demonstrated ability to work with high-level government officials, international organizations, and private sector stakeholders
  • Strong understanding of Viet Nam’s green growth policy environment, political economy, and climate tech and innovation sectors
  • Thematic knowledge in areas such as renewable energy, energy efficiency, waste management and circular economy, sustainable agriculture, green financing (including green bonds), and start-up investment is preferred
