Job Overview/Summary:

The doctor will be primarily responsible for providing curative and preventive services for chronic and acute diseases and diseases that require referral to other centers as needed, working in Areesha camp 5 days a week. This position reports to the Senior Health Officer.

Responsibilities:

  • Provide curative and preventive services following MOH or internationally recognized treatment protocols.
  • Maintain universal precautions for infection prevention
  • Perform minor surgical procedures i.e., dressing, stitching.
  • Ensure daily that supplies, equipment, and medicines are available for the team.
  • Refer patients when diagnosis or treatment is not possible at the site.
  • Arrange/facilitate for the shuttle services to transport the patient to the nearest referral facility.
  • Make timely requests for supplies, equipment, and medicines.
  • Cooperate with the medical program managers/supervisors related to their activities.
  • Attend IRC training and program meetings as required.
  • Prepare statistics and reports for the program.
  • Perform any other duties and functions, as needed, or requested by the organization

Staff Performance Management, Learning & Development:

  • Hire, supervise, and build the capacity of team members in relevant technical and management competencies.
  • Develop and implement remote management capacity building approaches to build the strengths the teams’ teams in Syria.
  • Coach, train, supervise and mentor direct-report staff, including communicating clear expectations, setting annual performance objectives, providing regular and timely positive and constructive performance feedback, and providing documented semi-annual performance reviews.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  • Approve and manage time, attendance and leave requests to ensure adequate departmental coverage; ensure monthly, accurate timesheet submission and carry out probationary reviews.
  • Hold high-quality meetings with each direct report on a regular and predictable basis, minimally monthly.
  • Provide a measurable development plan including on-the-job learning with the aim of strengthening technical capacity, exchanging knowledge within the team, and providing guidance on career paths.
  • As required, identify staff performance issues and work with Human Resources to document and address these in accordance with the National Staff Employment Policies.
  • Maintain open and professional relations with team members, promoting a strong team spirit and providing oversight and guidance to enable staff to successfully perform in their positions.
  • Promote and monitor staff care and well-being. Model healthy work-life balance practices. Support appropriate interventions in response to identified staff care needs of both national and international staff.
  • Look for opportunities to support staff in their career growth, where appropriate. As part of succession plan and nationalization goals, identify, train, and develop capability and capacity of national staff to successfully transition role and responsibilities, by the end of assignment.

Required Experience/qualification/Skills:

  • Qualified Medical Doctor, preferred to be internal doctor.
  • Registration with Syrian Medical Board
  • At least 2-4 years of working experience in the relevant field.
  • Preferably work experience in emergency situations.
  • Demonstrable ability to work as part of a team and on own initiative.

  • Credible written, presentation and verbal communication skills; ability to convey information effectively and solid experience providing training and staff development

Language/Travel:

  • Arabic is required and English is an advantage
  • Travel: 100% to field sites in 20% as well as attending workshops and meetings.

  • التأكد يوميا من أن الإمدادات والمعدات والأدوية متوفرة للفريق.
  • إحالة المرضى عندما يتعذر التشخيص أو العلاج في الموقع.
  • ترتيب / تسهيل خدمات النقل المكوكية لنقل المريض إلى أقرب مرفق إحالة.
  • تقديم طلبات الإمدادات والمعدات والأدوية في الوقت المناسب.
  • التعاون مع مديري البرامج الطبية / المشرفين ذات الصلة بأنشطتهم.
  • حضور دورات التدريب واجتماعات البرنامج كما هو مطلوب.
  • إعداد الإحصائيات والتقارير الخاصة بالبرنامج.
  • أداء أي واجبات ووظائف أخرى، حسب الحاجة، أو طلب من قبل المنظمة

الخبرة / المؤهل / المهارات المطلوبة:

طبيب مؤهل ويفضل أن يكون طبيب عام

التسجيل لدى نقابة الاطباء

ما لا يقل عن 2-4 سنوات من الخبرة العملية في المجال ذي الصلة.

يفضل خبرة العمل في حالات الطوارئ.

القدرة على إثبات القدرة على العمل كجزء من فريق وعلى المبادرة الخاصة.
