Position: Programme Policy Volunteer

Duty Station: Beijing, China

Starting Date: May 2025

Expected Duration: 6 months with possibility of extension

 

The Programme Policy Volunteer, under the direct supervision of the Chief of the Capacity and Knowledge Unit, will perform the following key functions:

  • Assists the event coordination of workshops, webinars, and learning visits to facilitate capacity-building and knowledge-sharing initiatives.
  • Supports knowledge management, particularly the daily maintenance and content updates of the South-South Cooperation Knowledge Sharing Platform and Cloud School to ensure optimal functionality and user engagement.
  • Contributes to building and strengthening a knowledge partnership network by engaging with stakeholders, including experts, institutions, and collaborating partners.
  • Contributes to communication and advocacy to increase the visibility and impact of knowledge-sharing and capacity-building initiatives through content development, social media, and outreach activities.
  • Provides administrative assistance, including scheduling, correspondence, and document management.
  • Undertakes other relevant tasks as assigned to support the unit’s objectives.

 

  • Qualifications

  • Education: at least the third year of university education in agriculture economics, foreign languages, communications, international development studies, and relevant fields.
  • Skills and Competencies: Proficiency in using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) required for work; ability to prepare preliminary reports and to draft correspondence; ability to work in multi-cultural environment; good communication skills with different stakeholders.
  • Language: Fluency in both oral and written communication in English and Chinese.
