JOB PURPOSE:
Under the direct supervision of the Reporting Lead and the general supervisor of the Head of Partnerships & OIM, the purpose of this role is to support the graphic design function and provide branding and design support to the WFP Partnerships & OIM unit, and other functions in the office.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES (not all-inclusive, nor exhaustive):
Responsible for the branding and design support to the WFP Ethiopia country office, with a particular focus on the Partnerships & OIM team, as well as the Programme, Supply Chain and Communications units.
- Design, develop and publish comprehensive standardized briefs and cutting-edge reports and donor/partners packages showcasing WFP’s work and achievements in Ethiopia.
- Professionally design reports, infographics, factsheets, visual data representations and any other donor engagement materials.
- Support the Unit to develop materials for meetings, missions, and any other relevant reports.
- Develop a well-organized and easily accessible design asset library.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
STANDARD MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND EXPERIENCE:
Education: Completion of secondary school education. Diploma in Graphic Design or Visual Arts related field with demonstrable knowledge of visual communication and a high standard portfolio, showing creative solutions and attention to detail.
Experience: Four or more years of progressively responsible work experience in the relevant field, preferably in a UN agency or non-profit setting. Experience in humanitarian communication design is highly desirable.
Knowledge & Skills:
Proficiency in using Adobe InDesign, Illustrator, Photoshop, After Effects, Premiere Pro and Lightroom, MS Office and other publishing software on Mac and Windows hardware.
Strong skills in visual storytelling, layout design, and branding
Knowledge of work routines and methods to complete processes under minimal supervision.
Demonstrates a sound understanding of WFP communication techniques and activities and awareness of the socio-political context in which WFP operates through day-to-day work.
Ability to work with a high level of independence, as part of a large, dynamic and diverse team, and to establish effective working relationships with people of different national and cultural backgrounds.
Language:
Fluency in both oral and written communication in English (Level C).
