Job Description
Under the overall supervision of the Chief of Mission (CoM) and the direct supervision of the PSEAH and Gender Programme Officer, the postholder will support the implementation of activities related to the Protection from Sexual Exploitation, Abuse and Harassment (PSEAH) and activities related to gender equality in IOM Ukraine.
Responsibilities
- Support the delivery of PSEAH- and gender-related capacity building (e.g. trainings, workshops, sensitisations) for IOM staff and related personnel, as well as for implementing partners, third party contractors and other stakeholders;
- Support the different activities aimed at outreach to beneficiaries and communication with communities;
- Support the collection and use of gender-related data to inform programming;
- Contribute to IOM’s collaboration and coordination with a wide range of partners, ranging from local and national NGOs, to international NGOs, UN agencies and government entities, as well as to internal coordination with other IOM mission’s units;
- Draft recommendations for the integration of PSEAH and Gender into IOM’s programming;
- Provide input to the materials and tools which are being developed, specifically for PSEAH and gender mainstreaming;
- Support Programme Officer’s efforts to mainstream gender as well as PSEAH in the implementation of activities;
- Translate and interpret from English into Ukrainian and vice versa when needed;
- Undertake duty travel as required;
- Perform such other duties that may be assigned.
Qualifications
Education
- High school degree or equivalent with six years of relevant working experience; or
- Bachelor’s degree in Social Sciences, Political Sciences, Development Studies, Migration Studies, Human Rights, Law or related fields from an accredited academic institution with four years of relevant professional experience.
Experience
- Work experience on one or several of these topics: human rights, protection, gender equality, risk management, compliance;
- Experience of contribution to the delivery of capacity building activities e.g. trainings;
- Knowledge about engagement with individuals in vulnerable situations;
- Previous experience with Ukrainian NGOs or UN agencies is an asset;
Skills
- Excellent written and oral communication skills in both English and Ukrainian;
- Ability to organize work, work independently and prioritize work under pressure, coordinate multiple tasks, maintain attention to detail, and coordination with a variety of stakeholders.
- Knowledge of mainstreaming best practices and partnership models to ensure coordination of the same across a diversified range of actors;
Ability to work with and maintain strict confidentiality, when necessary
Languages
Fluency in English and Ukrainian (oral and written).
IOM’s official languages are English, French and Spanish.
Proficiency of language(s) required will be specifically evaluated during the selection process, which may include written and/or oral assessments.
